I'm sure you're all like me....waiting (not so) patiently for some kind of tour announcement. I'm lucky enough to have seen Prince 7 times but it's been 10 years since I saw the man himself live in UK, it was the Gold Experience Tour, I know he's played since but I didn't get to see them. So the question I wanted to ask is what kind of venue would you want to see him play here in the UK. I've seen him in all the large indoor arenas in the UK as well as outdoors at Manchester Maine Road Stadium and in all honesty I didn't get anything from the outdoor show but have always been knocked out when indoors. I think some of the shows on the musicology tour were in smaller venues, something I don't think he's done over here or at least not much. Given that no-one in the UK can predict what demand would be like we could be looking at anywhere, where would you suggest he plays or where would you like to see him play?

I'd love to see him play Manchester Apollo.

As much as I would love to see him sell out stadiums and the like, for my personal selfish desires, I want a 24 hour concert in a small venue with a few thousand people in Glasgow, somewhere like the Barrowlands, where he absolutely rips everything anyone has ever done to shreds.

thanks for the replies. RedFeathers, is this true? What was it like? Ive been forunate enough to see Prince at many venues but last saw him some 10 years ago at Manchester GMEX. I missed his tours around the millenium for whatever reasons. I went to Manchester Apollo for the 1st time last year and thought how good it would be to see prince play at intimate venues like this. Rumour has it that the Symbol stage used at the Superbowl is going to be the set of the new tour making small venues difficult to access, but I'd love to see P at Manc Apollo.

I'd like to see him in an intimate venue like an Irish pub,
just to see if, when the brawl breaks out,
he goes for a broken bottle or a chair as his chosen weapon.

Well, having played the Hammersmith Apollo in 02, I' not sure how small a venue you expect him to play?

We would all pick our local pub, but its not going to happen.
