What does he like about us fans? I'd say no matter what he does whether we agree or not with his decisions, his true fans are always there for him which gives him a certain freedom of action.
Don't you think? | |

Considering his legendary status,$250.00 is not a lot of money 4 the kind of show that Prince puts on.There r many singers who r not half as talented who charge way more.

not buyin' it. madonna's "talent" in and of itself is dwarfed by prince yet her ticket prices are outrageous...yet her shows are always extremely visual and have great choreography and give you a full sense of SPECTACLE for the money. just watching prince jam is great, don't get me wrong, but $250 is ridiculous for the kind of shows he's been giving at 3121. i think $125 is a bit steep, though passable considering it's vegas. unless it comes with some perks, $250 for 75 minutes of the funk face is a little lame to me.

I don't think that. I think he tolerates us as fans but would LOVE to be loved by the mainstream in the same way. I think if he had a choice to play to his "true fans" in an intimate setting playing obscure stuff vs an Arena show with thousands of regular fans playing a set of hits...he'd choose the latter.

Considering many of us have seen him numerous times. Now if he was doing 2 hr sets with very little hits and more of the obscure stuff, I'd GLADLY shell out that kind of dough. Heck it could be stuff like Pop Life and Mountains...anything from Come or Gold...any thing from the internet releases... Christian Zombie Vampires

yeah, but it's not about going to listen to her sing. everyone KNOWS she's a weak singer. it's for the spectacle and the performance aspect. if he did something now that was on par with the production values and fantastic set list of, say, the lovesexy tour, then sure - i can see charging $250. i'm not saying REPRODUCE that tour, but invest in something on that scale. right now he's doing what any decent jam band can do, and that's not worth $250. i think his 3121 shows have been just a notch or two above his aftershows of recent years, which usually seem to be a jam band noodlefest these days. which is fine, but not for that kind of money.

$$$$$
I mean, that's all I know for sure he likes about us. He could be absolutely in love with every single one of us for even remotely liking his music (which I doubt is true ), but I don't know for sure. So as far as I know, the only thing he likes about us is the money. Cause who doesn't like money? HE'S COMING AGAIN

I agree with you. He would probably choose the latter but would grow to resent it and the restrictions of it sooner. When he tries to return to the "true fan" he'll be informed that they've all been converted and only wanted to hear the hits...
that's what I think. Rod Serling then steps in and says his little piece. Prince cries as he approaches stadium stage, music plays, credits roll etc... Why do you like playing around with my narrow scope of reality? - Stupify

I think he likes the fact that if fans think they understand him, they will be loyal thus they will be willing to pay their $ to him. Then he can tell them he doesn't like the term "fans" and they will still consider themselves "fans" because of their loyalty and they have invested way too much $ to turn back now. I guess I'm to tired to play the "he thinks, me thinks, he thinks, they thinks" game right now.
