Most Prince fans I know do not like MJ at all. Almost as if they make a point to dislike MJ.


On MJ boards, there is a great deal of Prince dissing as well.



Do you think this has in correlation with the insistence of media during the 80's and certain portions of the 90s to compare them---even to call them "rivals" ?

I personally think the correlation forced by the media actually made me disdainful of MJ, when in fact what I was really upset about was that Prince was somehow being compared to ANYBODY and often in a lesser light.

The success of Prince of late has been great, but I think he's starting to be viewed as an artist without peers. I haven't really seen any MJ comparisons in a long time.
