The Prince Galley Exhibit in NYC: A review

Hey orgers....today I made the trek to see the Prince photos down at the black and white galley in NYC. First of all, it was literally located in the most confusing and seedy area I have been in. I tried to find the place twice before I actually made it! Anywhoo, the photos that have been posted were the only ones at the gallery as well, they were 4x3 ft or so and were very good up close depictions of my idol. The curator was talking to man about how they are recieving four to five calls a day about people interested in looking at just the P exhibit. The final picture (that wasn't posted here) were tons of proofs of test shots and ones that were not chosen to be blown up. Some were awkward like with his eyes closed or a goofy smile, but others were heavenly. There were a couple of him seated on the ground or his elbow on his knee as he rested his head on hand. They kind of reminded me of school pictures...BUUUUTT there were a couple that really stood out. There were several with his shirt of and him posing with a fender strat and then there were some angelic ones where he was looking down toward the lower right corner of the picture and he was lit from behind....they were very nice!

I went there yesterday- gave my review... http://www.prince.org/msg/7/218485
(only got one response, tho pout)

I found it very confusing to find also. I got kind of worried because my sis and I were walking back there and all kinds of men were working on those loading docks....

I really enjoyed the proofs as well! Everyone should check it out if they're in the area.

I guess if you called/wrote the gallery they could give you info about the exhibit: 212-244-3007 or info@blackandwhiteartgallery.com

Are cameras allowed in the gallery? If so, someone should take pictures of those proofs. I can't get to the exhibit, and I'd love to see them.

No...
I was about to, but my sister thought we should check with the girl at the desk, who said, "Sure!"
Then someone who was in an office in the back summoned her and she came out and told me "No".
If my sister wasn't polite, I would have had them! confused She kept apologizing!! lol
