Prince's O(+> I think this symbol is so cool. Does anyone know when or where it first appeared?

1999 album cover Thanks for the laughs, arguments and overall enjoyment for the last umpteen years. It's time for me to retire from Prince.org and engage in the real world...lol. Above all, I appreciated the talent Prince. You were one of a kind.

I understand the connecting female and male symbols. However, the alchemy symbol for soapstone has me stumped. I know the Inuits used soapstone for sculptures. Any input on this?

In alchemy , soapstone is used in order to make gold....gold symbolizes perfection...gold, the Gold Experience, perfection, male/female, love...it all makes sense, somehow.....when you´re weeded. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Hahah when you're weeded it makes perfect sense.. I can talk about it for hours and explain it all... gotta be potted up though.

But how does that explain his fierce protection on the copyright of the symbol which he originally stole himself?

http://cere.phlo.net/alch...pers_code/ http://altreligion.about....tafkap.htm From April 9, 1999: The UPTOWN legal team has also learned that the Symbol is not an original work, but rather a near-imitation of an ancient symbol for soapstone that can be seen in a 1950 book about alchemy. The soapstone symbol may be viewed at http://www.acs.oakland.ed...apston.htm [broken link] UPTOWN's counterclaim also seeks a legal declaration that the Artist has no copyright or trademark rights in the Symbol. "Like I always say, what's good for the goose is good for the gander. Oh, sue me!"

So was Prince into this alchemy stuff or did he invent the same symbol by coincidence. I invented the phrase shitehawk but was told it already existed.

On the Larry King show, he said he always "morphed" together the female/male symbols for gender which if you look back at his early career made sense to me.

I love the sign, I've made it out of so many things, be it wire hangers, pipe cleaners, drawing it all over my room, and I made myself a little purse in the shape too. It was a slow day ok? Hehe. "So you found me, Good I'm glad."so.ikindaloveprincemorethaneverything♥

It's all good! I became a fan while he was still , and I drew it on EVERYTHING I owned! Now I have some jewelry, so I don't feel the urge to deface my home anymore. Wanna hear me sing? www.ChampagneHoneybee.com

The symbol first appeared in Egyptian form, and symbolised Immotality.
