If you've ever read my posts...you know I've been a Prince fan for the majority of my life!! The only thing I've been doing longer than loving Prince is walking and talking!! However...it was not until this year...thanks to the internet (which I LOVE so much also) that my love for Mr. Nelson was taken to new heights that I thought were fucking unimaginable!! I've finally heard all of the 12 inches!

I swear I'm hooked all over again! How is that possible if I was already hooked? I don't know...you'd have to ask Prince! He's done it to me again!!

Can we discuss them, y'all? Who feels me on this?

Where'd they come from? Why'd he do them? Which one's your favorite? Hell, have you heard them?

My favs: La La La He He Hee, Another Lonely Christmas, America, She's Always In My Hair and of course Pop Life!

I love 12 inch singles. I've only heard two of Prince. There good by other artists as well.

I am also a big collector of 12" singles, and I have 6 CDs worth of Prince alone. Some of the extended versions I had to modify myself - like 'Hello' - because either:
a) There were sections of the song on the single that aren't on the 'extended version' (isn't the whole point of a 12" single to give you *more* of the song?)
b) There were sections on the 12" single which just ruined the song (IMO) like the very beginning of 'Hello' with that whole keyboard fiasco.
c) All of the above (as in the case of 'Hello')

I actually have been doing my own 're-mixes' of songs for about 27 years.

The prince 12" singles I have found - and 90% of these were mine on vinyl that I transferred myself until a cleaner version was found.

My 12 inch experence started with LRC which is the only one I don't have a copy to. WE had a mom and pop record store which sold all the dance music to the DJs they were well stocked and when she closed the store back in 1994 she still had a very extensive Prince 12 inch collection. I bought several and to this day I wish I had bought the Jill Jones 12 inch of Mia Bocca.

Favorite Prince 12 inches : LRC, Lets Go Crazy/Erotic City,Raspberry Beret/SAIMH, Mountains/Alexa de Paris, ICNTTPOYM/ Hot Thing, SOTT/La La La Hee Hee Hee.

Anyone old enough to remember the controversy behind the SOTT 12 inch ???
