I've been a fan for a long time, and I'll always love some of the older favourites, but I just can't digest the new stuff prince is putting out. I find it really unmusical, very unoriginal and just generally a bit crap. (a total contrast to what I used to think about the music he wrote.)
If he's ever in town again I might go and see him for the live shows, but even the last few live performaces for me have been a bit uninspired, certainly nothing in he league of the lovesexy tours. What a shame. "Guitar" is exactly the opposite of what it should've been: GOOD. I've listened to it once, and that was it for me. I pulled out The Gold Experience and remembered again what Prince is really about, ESPECIALLY with a guitar!

Live Performer or Live or Band? U2 are the best live"Band" I've ever seen Prince the best live "perfomer" (sorry I never got to see Freddie Mercury) RIP Rome wasn't built in a day But the earth was created in six And God resteth on the 7th Reality is an illusion

I'll bow to your knowledge on this one - I listened to it once and thought it was so damn obnoxious I blanked it from my memory. One day I'll go back to it, but not yet. dont listen to these retarded nut-fans who twist every crap that prince puts out. they are not fans. they are a bunch of morons. they have hard time admitting when it's bad. a bunch of "yes" people. they even like worst crap like "song of the heart" so that says it all. they will never admit it's bad. they will always say get out of old, prince is not interested in making commercial hits, or p done it all and he's a legend doing whatever he wants to, blah blah. full of crap. but as soon as prince comes out with a hit single if it happens, i GURANTEED you that these nut-fans will brag that shit for next 10 yrs saying how p can pump out a hit if he wants to. prince released that single on his website b/c it's a crap and no record company will promote it. P knows it and everybody knows it. there is a small percentage of "retarded nut-fans" who are gonna say everything Prince does is good, and they are also lonely loser pathetic haters, who claim to not like a Prince song in 20 years and spend the last 10-15-20 years, complaining about Prince as if he's the only musician in the world for them to listen to, instead of moving on with their lives to other musicians. Both people on opposite ends of the extreme are "morons" I'll admit Prince ain't charting or selling CDs in the masses and the music can never be compared to the old days, however, I happen to love some of his new stuff. Love the 3121, Rainbow Children, love some tracks off Rave In2, C-Note, and NEWS. I can't help it, I like them. They're so diverse and because Prince's 30 year legacy of music, I feel like I have a catalog of music to keep me going. What, should I just shut down because it has not made the charts? Well, I guess it all depends on what is important to you. If you feel its 'bad' then move on. I just don't understand why people get all dramatic about leaving (then make appearances again--- ) at the same time, I also don't appreciate those who can't handle someone not liking a Prince song either. that's just wack. and by the way, I don't like Guitar, matter a fact I can't stand that song, but I like Song of the Heart after seeing the live version in Vegas which was very deep. [Edited 2/22/07 17:08pm] That is what I am saying. I had celebrities that I no longer interest in but I dont go to their message boards bashed them at every chance I get or tell their fans to stop support this artist/celebrity, or like you said spend the last 15 years complaining about their art. I just move on. They are just attention-seekers losers with no life thats all. If they have lives they wouldn't spend their energy bashing some artist's music they no longer likes. I bet Prince is somewhere laughing his ass of reading some of these posts on here. He probably feel sorry for those type of people more than being upset at every criticism they spit. ratt said: wonder505 said: this response clearly shows that you totally missed the point of my message. You're rambling on like a bumbling miserable person and you're not making any sense. You are clearly suffering from Prince battered fan syndrome. and yes you are acting like Prince is the only musician in the world. Why complain? A musician can either make the music you like or don't like. We've all experience buying a CD and ended up not liking it. So what do you do? Sell that shit and don't buy anymore Prince music! What is the point about bitching constantly on messageboards about a musician who does not make music you like, and then get mad because other people have different taste than you and actually like it. Just because you consider his music crap don't mean the rest of the world have to fall behind you and hate it too. It appears to me that you have a hard time moving on and get mad at the people who stay behind. Why do you care? Prince is gonna do the music he does. His albums have not sold well so at this point that tells me that he does not care, he's going to do the music he likes and you could either buy it or don't and MOVE ON! Don't get me wrong, you can clearly state your opinion on Prince's music being shit, but I notice you have a tendency to name call people who differ on opinion or like his current stuff and that's just plain childish. [Edited 2/23/07 15:55pm] just exactly when did i ever mention or act like prince is the only musician in the world? did i say that? do you know what i listen to? you need to be more convincing instead of just shit talking which you cant back up. it appears that comes from your nut-riding obsession with prince. i may sound silly but i make my point of view. if i suffer from Prince battered fan syndrome, then you must suffer from prince nut-riding fan syndrome. can you admit that? i'd rather have a "prince battered fan syndrome" than what you suffer by buying every piece of crap p puts out and telling people how great they are. if i dont make a sense, then prove it instead of throwing all the bullshit talk. just exactly what point did i not make sense? prove your point miss. also you ask me why i care. my question is why do you care i bitch or not? just like you like his piece of shit album , it's my right to dislike his piece of shit album b/c i'm the consumer who purchased his product. i might sound childlish to you and to others, but i aint stuck in purple panties like you are, and sucking up every piece of garbage album that prince puts out. that's my point, do you get it miss or i'm not making sense again? Dude did you have a hug when you was little? You do sound very bitter, miserable, angry and very personal here. Prince is just a celebrity. Come on it isn't that serious. Prince is going to continue to make music for the people he wants to entertain and for the last 30 years and until the day he dies, he is going to change when he feel it is the right thing to do not based on some of fans very high, unrealistic expectations of him. The man is a control freak who likes to be control so I doubted he is going to take some very rude comments on here about his music into consideration. Sure that he makes some questionable decisions and some of the music he did from the 80s and even recently wasn't too good, but still your tone sounded like Prince did something bad to you. Like one of the mods would say, turn your computer off and take a chill pill. [Edited 2/27/07 16:26pm]

i'm not trying to dissuade you, though. as far as i'm concerned, it's one less person shoving me at an aftershow. He does like 2 head fuk his fans doesn't he?
