Whenever that happens, I try to tell people there are two reasons I have tremendous respect for Prince: talent and work ethic. This guy is hyper-prolific. I compare learning how to play an instrument to learning a new language. Extending that analogy, he knows about 10 different languages -- and about a dozen dialects (rock, pop, metal, blues, gospel, R&B, funk, rock-a-billy, jazz, etc.)

If his music were terrible, he still would be an inspiration in terms of honing your craft (whatever it is) and sharing the results. If I were to meet Prince one day, I would try not to trip out, and try to play it cool. I'd be like, "What's up?" or "Hey. How are you doing?" But, if for some reason, I can't contain myself, I'd go away somewhere so nobody sees me act a fool. I don't want Prince to think I'm straight crazy.

If I'm feeling bold that day, and we begin to have a conversation, eventually, I'll ask him to take me to my senior prom in May! (You know, just to see what he says back.)
