The only subliminal message I ´ve heard of considering the Superbowl is the one about Prince in revenge mode for the FooFighters covering Darling Nikki, namely that he took The Best of You from them and made it his own song by playing it better and him playing All Along The Watchtower was supposedly his way of hinting at this since Jimi Hendrix took that one from Bob Dylan and made it his own...but that´s only what I´ve read on a couple of independent websites, I don´t necessarily believe this.
