It should be noted that the was also the from the CBS logo, so that says to me that this ad wasn't simply Prince saying, "ya know what, I think I'll run a 'thank you' ad..." This was part of the network's overall promotional package, Now, whether this ad was planned all along or if it is simply an 'image' ad meant to counter the fake controversy over the guitar/phallus, who knows...
Nice ad, tho... | |

Nice ad, tho... The CBS logo is a perfect circle/eye. The message on the Prince commercial was elongated, more like a normal eye. I think you are reading into it a bit. -G

Not that our boy is a grammatical genius, but I kind of cringed when I read that. Millions of people watching, and a glaring error in basic grammar. But, the eye symbol looked cool! Too bad it wasn't correct wording. Oh well.

Thank you Prince for the Beautiful music. God doesn't just tells me how much he "LOVE's" me, God shows me how much he "LOVE's" me. Both telling and showing "LOVE" means to "LOVE". They go hand in hand. You can't have one with out the other. Something is spoken, then followed by an action. That is

i was suprised to see the commercial, i didn't realize what it was for a few seconds. Its all entirely possible that Prince stipulated a "thank you" commercial as part of his fee for appearing

He probably did, which again is a sign of true class. I've never seen anyone else do anything like that, especially after performing on the biggest stage in the world. The more I think about what he did, the more incredibly impressed I am.

Did he do that because of the phallic guitar controversy? Since when does he care what anyone thinks?? Hi, I don't think it has anything to do with the Guitar....It is probably just me but I noticed at the Grammys last night PRINCE seemed different..like not as shy. I think he is finally taking down the walls & enjoying his fame!!! I am just sooooo excited to see him in the public eye again. I have always admired him for his music and talent. I am also happy to have found this org...I am new here and it is just nice to be able to meet others that love PRINCE as much as I do

Are you people out in left field or what?
The only reason P did a thank you ad is because of all the talk over his guitar looking like a Penis... It is all public relations. I mean, Iam not saying it was a bad thing to do. But if there was not all that talk about the alleged controversey over the guitar shadow..there would have been no thank you commercial. Think about it. He is worrying about his image because he actually cares about his image these days...he does not want to be offensive...which is a far cry from the old and younger Prince who did not give a damn. Stand Up! Everybody, this is your life!

It definitely isn't any sort of "Prince" eye, though.

I was at the superbowl, all the rehearsals and in Vegas a few months back. Prince has been very open and engaging lately. If people could see how enthusiastic he was at the superbowl gig they wouldn't wonder why he's saying thanks. He was as delighted as I've ever seen him. Welcome to the Org Alleycato! Imago said: raddahone said: yes. so someone paide 2.5 million dollars so that Prince could thank folks to watch the superbowl? I'm not saying it wasn't a great gesture, but Grammy commercials are very expensive. I just find it odd that there would be one just to say "thank you." The Grammy's aren't getting 2.5 Million ~ That was for the Super Bowl. Also, since they were on the same channel, I doubt P had to pay full price for his ad. Hell, CBS might have given him that one for doing the best halftime show in history!

I think that socalled "guitar controversy" is really ridiculous..first of all, those guitar hero poses are all part of Rock And Roll, and secondly, his phallic posing didn´t even last more than a second. It´s a nice gesture that Prince is showing his humble and gratefull side once again...I was really impressed during the 2002 celebration at Paisley Park when he thanked us for sticking with him through the thick and the thin. He may be an asshole sometimes, but he´s also got a very kind heart at times. " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"
