The minute the commerical world claims Prince as its own is the minute he loses the game. The cock sillohette was obviously intentional. The only time I was made fun of for liking Prince was when I was a kid.

Most of my close friends are fans also so we can talk about him all the time. Most of my coworkers know how big a Prince fan I am. My female coworkers call me Mrs Prince or variations thereof.  My male coworkers dog him and make fun of him when I'm around, trying to get a rise out of me.  Most of them dogged the halftime performance, saying things like "your boy is losing it, his voice was cracking" and "I didn't think it was all that. I was expecting a GREAT performance". I know they do it to annoy me so I ignored it. I know that deep down they knew it was a great performance.  To GOD be the Glory! | |

I used to get called all the time. Since the superbowl, my doorbell hasnt stopped buzzing with people offering heartfelt and tearful appologys for how they had gotten in so wrong all these years. Many asked if they could still download the 3cd prince/larry/chaka set. I even saw a 6ft 4" brick shithouse wearing high heels and a sparkling purple trench coat at my bus stop today, he just stood there licking his fingers suggestively as he awaited his ride. When i drew back my curtains today the sky was all purple and there were people running everywhere. ive heard that amazon will only stock prince cd'd from today onwards as sales are that up. My friends never made fun of me for liking Prince. My friends in Jr. High and High School (this was the early 1980s) all liked Prince themselves. When times changed in the 1990s on up to the present and all the entertainers were "overly butch", my friends from this era and the present may not care for Prince but they never made fun of him (mainly because I don't hang out with trash).

none of my "friends" have ever made fun of me 4 Loving Prince.
only on occasion there are a few simpletons that talk nonsense. but other than that, i received calls and so many Positive praises at work about Prince's performance at the Super Bowl! Telling me what an Amazing show he performed!! Eye was (since eye was a young teenanger) till Now and Always am Truly Proud of being a True Prince Lover 4 All Time:-D Eye LOVE U Prince!

Yes. Everyone I know teases me about it. After the super bowl I was hearing a lot of do-rag jokes. A lot of my friends didn't like his performance. Really I thought it was good. Not spectacular but it was raining. I thought it was good. | |

The best way is to get them before they get you.
You have them either in your car or home and put on some Prince music that they've never heard. (No Purple Rain, no hits, etc.) Know your friend's taste in music and tailor your selections to that "style". You can mix in some other music you like between Prince songs so as not to fry their circuits and scare them too much. They ask you, Who's that? I like that song! Tell them it's Prince. Now they must admit they like Prince's music. | |

Yeah, I finally get to post. I just joined.
I've only talked to one of my friends recently and he just keeps saying "he's so weird." Sure, I'll agree to that, but then again, we're all a little weird. I know I'm a little weird. In that same sense, Prince has his quirks, but that's what makes him so unique. I even like his quirks. All I see when I look at/listen to him is a lot of talent and someone very dedicated to their work.
