I too like this film only for the way Prince looks in it. It has some humorous moments but overall it is unintentional camp, the worst kind of camp, with a horrendous script. I think Prince, as director, having fired the initial director, intended this film to be a serious look at his alter ego, especially in the last act, but he utterly failed, making of it an unintentional comedy throughout, although only parts were intended as such. The only manner in which this film comes out looking relatively good is to compare it to "Graffiti Bridge", which is in every reasonable way, without doubt, worse. UTCM seems to bask in a glow of nostalgia for its music and corny "wrecka" store lines in comparison to the horrid "Graffiti Bridge"

I think the movie was doomed to tank once Terrence Stamp aka Zod dropped out.

"Christopher! Kneeeeellll before Isaacc."

All good things they say never last...
