What kinda of Funk is that? Funk is Head(even if he couldnt do the lyrics a snippet of the music would have been funky, Lady Cab Driver, DMSR (another lyric change, but again funky music), Billy Jack B, Sexy Dancer, Feel U Up, Erotic City, 3121, etc. etc. |

I think you;re forgetting that he wasn't performing for you or indeed the fans...he was performing to a world-wide audience who would have had no interest whatsoever in a lenghty funk-jam.
He did what he needed to do, and that was put on an amazing show to get people talking. Job done in my book.  Calling all Prince fans!!! Are YOU experiencing a not-so-funky feeling due ... © Sevennynine Studios | |

If he had thrown in the live rendition of the beat of Black Sweat as a break between two of the numbers it would have sounded cool, with the marching band doing huge mother popcorn hits, with no singing of it, just a bit of playing with the twins.
