I ain't no hater but...

I see no point in all these TV appearence playing Let's Go Crazy, Purple Rain & all this 4 the 1000th time. It might b good 4 record sales but it's what Prince precisely say is shit in "Jukebox With A Heartbeat" --> 2 give people the same shit they're used 2 listen 2 instead of trying 'em with something new.

I know it's only a phase & that Prince will come out with some amazing jazz or killer electrofunk record in 1 or 2 years, if not a few months, but still... earing these songs again & again just bores me.

But i've been a fan 4 18 years, so i guess i've listened 2 these songs 2 many times now...

we should have a counter or something, of how many times this type of thread is gonna pop up in a day/week (which i think we're on thread 15 so far in one week) and how many times this has been discussed in the past 20 years.

How many times has he played LGC and PR on TV? Maybe 5 in 23 years? Prince used to never perform on televisio, so that's probably the first time alot of people got to see him perform those songs.

Prince actually has performed a lot on TV since the early 90's (he more or less heavily promoted Diamonds & Pearls, O+>, Exodus, The Gold Experience, Emancipation, Newpower Soul, Rave Un2 The Joy Fantastic & The Rainbow Children.) He used 2 play mostly new material until 2 years ago, when he started playing Kiss, LGC, PR & stuff...

& yeah, i know, this kinda subject is discussed many times here but i guess that's why forums r 4... hehe...

well, it was the halftime of the superbowl, and he was wise to integrate it into the vibe of the event rather than make it his personal/obscure artistic statement. And he still managed to throw in the kinks that keep studying fans interested (the dual cover with it's lyrics and reference to history of foo fighters connection)... he emphasized "I'm no fool." and gave the classic sly look right after that.

I love that part in the performance.

I saw 2 different meanings right away and both were meaningful.

#1 A fool is someone who does not know or recognize the power of God

#2 "I'm no fool when it comes to the music business."

I was like headbang GO PRINCE!!!

Still geek 'in out over the whole deal!
I'm firmly planted in denial

Speaking of but,
I remember during the performance thinking to myself,
"Damn....I hope this set is over soon.....
I'm in desperate need of a dump...!"

Y'know....cuz of all the nachos.
