What's your favorite tv performance by Prince? Sooooo many classics to choose from!

Well, it used to be either 'Purple Rain' from the AMA's in 1985.
But after last night.... If in years to come I ever have to try and explain what Prince was like as a showman and musician...that's what I'll cue up. To say it had its 'sublime moments' would be a vast understatement.

For me, it has to be the Brits performance. It's just high quality perfection throughout and I enjoy it everytime I play it. Before that, While My Guitar Gently Weeps. Before that, probably the '85 AMA performance of Purple Rain though I wish I could see it in the high definition of modern tv.

It used to be the VH1 performance with Endorphin Machine. Now....Superbowl XLI halftime. CALL ME A DREAMER 2!

I love the time the NPG was on "Arsenio Hall" and they lay on the floor and played "Face Down". I always thought that was so hot! "Love Hurts. Your lies, they cut me. Now your words don't mean a thing. I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..." -Cher, "Woman's World"

ANd a close second is the James Brown show where he invites Michael Jackson & P on stage. P shows Michael hows its done right. Again I was never prouder to ba a P fan. The United States of America.......

1. Superbowl performance. God damn, I've fallen in love with this man all over again. He was great.
2. Arsenio - D&P performance. His rendition of Purple Rain was very moving to me at the time. There was something about his eyes that totally captivated my girlfriend at the time. She became a Prince fan that night. 3. SNL - Electric Chair. He was so pretty doing that bit. I loved the dance moves, the ripping on the guitar, and the overall vibe of the performance. 4. RRHOF - The guitar solo on While My Guitar Gently Weeps 5. David Letterman - Dolphin. Great guitar solo. At the end of the performance you could hear David saying "yeah!".
