Which Prince album's sales will benefit most from the Superbowl? PR? The Hits? Very Best Of? 3121? His next album? With no new album to promote, I would imagine the album that will benefit most from the Superbowl appearance, sadly, is Very Best Of Prince - the album that he complained about being released in the first place. Sure, Purple Rain will benefit too, but for people who don't know him and now want an overview of his work, VBOP will probably be the first choice.
Of course, if he announces his new album in the next few days, and releases it within a month (not happening) that would sell like hotcakes (but the question is do hotcakes still sell quickly?). | |

Yeah, TVBOP for sure, followed by Purple Rain and maybe Ultimate Prince. But that's not necessarily a bad thing. The first Prince album I bought was The Hits Vol.1 and it was a nice little advertisement for each of the albums (which I have since aquired). In the USA today in the Life section at the bottom is a nice ad for Ultimate Prince and The Very Best of.
Too bad Prince did not have a new album coming out in the next couple weeks...it could really benefit from all the attention. Love God and I shall 4ever Love u | |

Very Best - #29 Purple Rain - #41 Ultimate - #67  he should start a tour and release an album after that! like he did with musicology there will be so much buzz created by the tour Seems like prince is all over the internet there r some haters too but mostly ppl who like hip hop but i think younger rock fans do like prince its good he covered the foo fighters he can attract alot of younger rock fans with that!! he covered all his bases song froms the 60s 80s and current!! i will see a surge in ppl joinin the org!! is there a way to find that out [Edited 2/6/07 9:31am] |
