There IS such a thing as an accoustic guitar. Yes, there is. I've seen and held them, I can cofirm this. No hard feelings.

Lets just keep this song between u and me . 2 make matters worst, my itunes decided 2 play sign o the times afterwards, now i hate guitar. This would have been good 4 American Idol with lolita instead of satisfied. I hope this is just another glass cutter song. Just a little diddly 2 make us confused about his direction and then the album is totally n a different style.

Who else misses John Blackwell and Michael Bland? I agree 100% on the Johnnie and Michael B, but I get the feeling that this song is personal, the lyrics make it charming. Later Explains his divorce? Is that what you're driving at?

I expect to hear (not heard it yet) a 3121 type of track with moderate guitar playing. Watch he'll tear the song up at the SB and everyone will be boo-hooing! Christian Zombie Vampires

It's nothing like anything on Musicology nor 3121 and sounds more like a quirky out-take from 1986. Oh, and I'm also feeling a bit of 'Jerk Out' in it.

It is growing on me - I'm really liking it at the moment. It reminds me a little of Outkast (yes, I know...) and is unlike something on Musicology or 3121, but still a modern pop-style tune. U been bamboozled, hoodwinked, took.

I can hear the Outkast in that I can imagine Prince trying to write Hey Ya! This fails miserably in that department but I can see that thought being in his head, trying to play catch-up with Andre 3000. No hard feelings.

mm-kay, i'm listening to the joint now...i imagine that it'd carry over better live, because it sounds rather 'meh' studio-wise. another case of "Fury" Syndrome, i suppose.
it's deece and cutesy, but nothing to write home about.

I would agree this is Prince being inspired by Hey Ya! and writing a similar riff, but doing his own thing and not entirely succeeding. I do like it a lot though, all said and done. Very catchy and danceable. Nothing what I expected...and I'm sure the same 4 many others as well. I was expecting something a little "edgier" and "rockesque". I always enjoy the new music...along with the old....I'll just continue 2 jam 2 this for awhile. And perhaps this is a sign of more downloads in the very near future. Almost certainly neigh. Think Neon Telephone. "Neon Telephone" is one of my favorite Prince songs ever! I have to figure out how to sign up and get the track. It won't let me log in at 3121.com. Thank u, finally an honest Prince fan. I find it funny how everybody's response 2 the song is about 3 words, i like it, it sounds great. Rewind 1 hour ago, responses were I think it will b a mixture of, i hope it is blah blah blah. If u guys don't like the song don't b afraid 2 say it. If Andre 3000 came out with this song u would bash this song 2 death. I love the, "i listened 2 this song 20 times and now i like it." Isn't that what is going on n the pop world now, the companies give us garbage (not saying the song is garbage bcuz it is not) but they give us garbage 2 listen 2 over and over again until we r forced 2 like it or just tolerate it. I really love the, " i like this song, but it would sound great live with..... ( a list of additions and corrections). I wish every1 would critic songs like the do songs of the past. I'd give it a 6 out of 10. Very pop music ish. Radio friendly, not complicated. Carpenters bend wood, fletchers bend arrows, wise men fashion themselves.

The lyrics in this song could have been drafted by a 13 year old whereas Neon Telephone, while hardly Keats, had a personal charm and humor this song is sorely lacking (imho, of course). I'd also agree with the Lolita comparison. I'm starting to think having an outside producer would be a great idea for Prince to consider. I know he'll never do it and thats part of his charm I suppose but it certainly wouldn't hurt to have someone drive him to make a killer rock album, or just something relevant and not toss away pop songs. No hard feelings.

Prince fans r getting soft. Hey, don't generalise. I like it and I've posted my honest feelings about the song here. I'd certainly say if I didn't like it - my Prince fandom isn't that blind that I just claim to like everything he does even when I don't, and I doubt anybody else does that either. Maybe the people who are saying they like it really do (food for thought for you). Just because someone says that they don't like it doesn't make them the only honest person here. They're entitled to not like it, just as you are, but don't assume that everybody who disagrees with your view on the song is being 'dishonest'. It seems that a number of people like the song. It's a shame that that is upsetting you.
