Which romantic relationship do you think influenced Prince the most?

I'm sure somehow every relationship was a unique expirience within itself.Still, who in your opinion inspired him to write some of his greatest compositions and who just fucked him up emotionally the most?

Probably all of them did in their own way...but I'd say Susannah Melvoin the most. She was probably so close to perfect and unique that it was intimidating.

Suzannah in terms of influencing musically. He wrote several songs about her, so she certainly inspired him.

Perfect in what way? I'm not sure I get that. I think that everyone comes into our lives and leaves an impression of some sort. Not one of us is perfect and we all have our faults. One man's "perfection" is another's "nightmare". Even Prince himself lends to that statement in "Fury".

I think that just about all of his women touched the music that we all love and appreciate in some form or another. All I know is I loved the smile that came across my face the first time I heard "Let's Have A Baby" and I remember thinking that he was finally settled. Little did I know huh? lol
pray God bless everyone. NO exceptions. pray

Snap

"influenced Prince the most" or "inspired him to write some of his greatest compositions"
two very different questions
i'd say Mayte had a "great" (define as you will) influence on Prince in many ways
musically tho... i'd probably go with Susannah

I think Mayte probably inspired his most beautiful love songs, while Vanity probably f'ed him up most emotionally.I still can't wrap my brain around Prince in a romance with Susannah, tho.

I'll say Vanity/Mayte' just because it seemed as if the true Prince was shown during those relationships. wave Sitruk7

Well, look at the time. It's getting late.Good night! zipped

Um...yes, Vanity really messed Prince up but you could also see the effect the final break up with Sussanah had on him.If I was Your Girlfiend probably conveys that the best.

himself. He probably look at himself in the mirror and gets inspired to sing love songs. He's a gemini and admitted to Oprah, there were two people inside of him and they hadn't determined what sex the other one was. Maybe his feminine side inspired him...just a thought.

Prince is a man, ladies. His Dick, his Penis, His Family Jewels, His Cock, His Johnson inspired him to become the musician he is and to write his songs. Not any woman.
The muse is between his own legs.
When the ladies are gone, Jim and the Twins are still hangin' around to continue the saga.

MINE. ...before there is fame, there is true Love. Love can drive you to fame. Fame can drive you crazy. Fame can have you question the 'you' you know you are. Love can drive you to great success. Sometimes success will over look Love. Love is often loss in the worldwind of Success. But in the end, it is LOVE that saves you and brings you back to life. I will always LOVE PRINCE!

How can that question be answered by anyone but Prince? Besides, he was always seeing two or three girls at once so how can you say one relationship influenced him more than another? He could have been privately on the outs with one chick and happened to run to another for comfort (amoung other things).

That's why the title says "which romantic relationship do you think...".
You're right about Prince being the only one who could answer but keep in mind, this is a message board.Speculations are a part of that.

Susan Moonsie: she inspired When Doves Cry. On the other hand...

Anna Garcia: she inspired Lemon Crush so she must have fucked him up emotionally the most

Ok nevermind I can see your new here and don't know this question has been asked about 600 times already over the years and the same names keep getting submitted based on who their personal preferences are, i.e,, Mayte fans are going to say her, W&L fans are going to say Susannah Melvoin, etc.

Carry on...

It does neither just pointing out (with my initial post) that the answers you're likely to get are going to be subjective with no basis in reality for the most part. Yeah I know they're just opinions but it's still kinda pointless to speculate on stuff like this.
