I just wish he'd stop applying his make-up in the car on the way to the studio. It all looks a but slap-dash and 'school show' hurried.

Seems like the audience was holding back and trying to keep professional in front of the media...they needed to loosen up, even Prince said "Y'all could get up..."

The highlight for me was "Anotherloverholinyohead". Didn't see that one coming and was pleasantly suprised, especially that killer guitar solo. Then there's "Get on the Boat". Interesting to hear those two songs together. It is the difference between the genius of the mid 80's and the burned out icon of the 21st century. I don't mean any disrespect. I guess it happens with all the great ones eventually. I mean, how many people got excited about the last Stevie Wonder album that came out??? I still hold to the belief that Prince is still capable of making quality albums that are unique and creative. You see him live and you know he's still got it, but somehow it just doesn't translate into the studio- all that passion, energy, and most of all that stripped down raw sound which gets buried in overdubs and sound effects on the album. It's almost like in the studio his creativity has become his curse. Case in point, the performance of "Reflection" with Wendy on Tavis Smiley. Play that version then play the album version. It's just not the same. A good friend of mine said it best. He's become a reactionary instead of the revolutionary he once was. Even still, he's the best live performer ever and in that regard he really hasn't "missed a stroke".

I gotta admit, that was pretty fun. And I wish I'd recorded it, but I found the situation quite ironic - me, who has never really watched a football game in my life, was combing the TV guide last night for the NFL channel to be sure I had it for the last man in the WORLD that I would expect to be on any program affiliated with football. And yet, there I was, looking for a man (who was wearing more makeup than I was and has a waist about three inches bigger than mine to my knowledge) for almost three hours on a football channel.
However, besides all the irony, I thought it was cool. I love the faces and don't know why - I got a kick out of them. I also got a kick out of "Contrary 2 rumors, I will be answering a few questions..." then he just turns around and starts jamming... That was very Prince. I loved it. Quite satisfying, and I was at first worried I would be disappointed after three hours of boredom Except for the Super Bowl commercials featuring Prince that were on every two seconds during the program. HE'S COMING AGAIN

The following is a review of the press conference performance from an Orlando Sentinel reporter.
http://blogs.orlandosenti..._prin.html Super Bowl: Prince ROCKS! posted by Andrea Adelson on Feb 1, 2007 7:25:51 PM We all knew something strange was going to happen when the NFL announced Prince would be at a news conference previewing the Super Bowl halftime show. Rumors started early in the week that Prince would not speak; he would sing only. Then that begged the question -- is he going to sing his answers? We found out soon enough. Thirty minutes before he was scheduled to make his arrival, the large auditorium started filling with reporters and cameras. Standing room only. Gotta see this, right? The stage was prepared -- a set of drums, keyboard, microphone. Was he really going to put on a mini-concert? Finally, it came time. First the band walked on stage. Then the beautiful identical twin dancers. Prince walked in last, wearing an orange jumpsuit with orange platform boots, his vaunted symbol in diamonds on a gold chain, and his guitar slung around his shoulder. "Contrary to rumor, I'd like to take a few questions," Prince said softly with a twinkle in his eye. Arms shot up around the room. Finally one guy screamed, "How do you feel about performing in the Super Bowl?" Prince smirked. BANG! The music started. Oh yes, friends, it was a concert indeed. He started with a rollicking rendition of Johnny B. Good. Next came Anotherloverholenyohead. His dancers shook and gyrated and got all over him. Prince loved every second of it. So did everyone in the room. Although the NFL must be down on its knees praying for Prince to leave that track at home and play something a little more wholesome on Sunday. He ended it with "Get it Up" and urged reporters to clap and stand. But no one could because then the photographers and cameramen would have caused a riot. When it was all over, Prince had one final comment: "See you at the Super Bowl! Peace." He bolted from the stage. Reporters milled out of the room with their ears ringing, having been treated to the best news conference of all time. It was very hard to fight the urge to pop Purple Rain into my CD player. ...Parties are starting up tonight ... Shaq is having one. So is LeBron James. Guess they will get their party on after the Heat and Cavs play. There also is a John Madden party, Edgerrin James party ... too many to keep track of. Traffic is horrendous. Limos are starting to make their way on Collins. Super Bowl week can begin! For me, it started and ended when I heard Prince. [Edited 2/1/07 21:46pm]

Even the overpowering feminine wiles of the evil Jenny Flex twins can’t dissuade Bond, James Bond, from delivering on his mission statement. As you can see, Bond’s nimble fingers have permanently incapacitated Jenny Flex No. 2 just seconds before she could stick him from behind with her poison-tipped finger nails of death. And I’ll be dammed if Bond doesn’t still get to enjoy “A View to a Kill.”

If U look at the performance then U'll see he doesn't make strange or ugly faces!Like NuPwr319 said: someone just captures those faces at the right time. The sound quality of the broadcast isn't good,so I don't think we can predict how the band will sound on Sunday. BTW:Thanx 4 those pictures! Love4oneanother
