The highlight for me was "Anotherloverholinyohead". Didn't see that one coming and was pleasantly suprised, especially that killer guitar solo. Then there's "Get on the Boat". Interesting to hear those two songs together. It is the difference between the genius of the mid 80's and the burned out icon of the 21st century. I don't mean any disrespect. I guess it happens with all the great ones eventually. I mean, how many people got excited about the last Stevie Wonder album that came out??? I still hold to the belief that Prince is still capable of making quality albums that are unique and creative. You see him live and you know he's still got it, but somehow it just doesn't translate into the studio- all that passion, energy, and most of all that stripped down raw sound which gets buried in overdubs and sound effects on the album. It's almost like in the studio his creativity has become his curse. Case in point, the performance of "Reflection" with Wendy on Tavis Smiley. Play that version then play the album version. It's just not the same. A good friend of mine said it best. He's become a reactionary instead of the revolutionary he once was. Even still, he's the best live performer ever and in that regard he really hasn't "missed a stroke".

If U look at the performance then U'll see he doesn't make strange or ugly faces!Like NuPwr319 said: someone just captures those faces at the right time.

The sound quality of the broadcast isn't good,so I don't think we can
predict how the band will sound on Sunday.

Just caught the performance. Dont want to cause a riot but i thought it was a poor performance.

the band was a mish mash, nobody for Prince to work with/bounce off. them twinz aint got shit all, only thing going for them is that they look alike. it doesnt automatically equate chemistry.. looks a tad sordid too. then, amongst these lesser performers you have a great player like Renato, lost and tucked away.

Prince's playing seemed histrionic.. all showboating, no feeling. Ending all your songs with a 'lets go crazy' finale was boring and devoid of any emotion. Its such a shame because Prince can do so much bettr. With all emphasis on the guitar i was hoping he would drop something special.. not a rock'n'roll by numbers version of johnny b goode with a handfull of guitar faces for good measure.

on the otherhand perhaps its hard to get inspired in the afternoon in front of a load of journo's
