There's lots to choose from but,the greatness of It's Gonna Be Lonely inspired this question. I dare you to give it another listen and tell me it doesn't deserve alot more love than it generally recieves.I bet it could be a huge hit for somebody if they covered it.

Alright...I'm in. I won't issue the "order". If someone should wish to cover it and has gone successfully through all of the other proper channels to do so, then they won't have to fear me either. I understand now that it's for the greater good!

There are many songs that are very underrated in my opinion, so i dont stick with one. Heres my list:

Elephants and Flowers (Graffiti Bridge): just a perfect hybrid of pop, gospel, funk and rock in the form of a catchy 'pop song'

Dolphin (The Gold experience): one of his best pop-rock songs of the nineties, brilliant musicianship by Prince and the NPG, great background vocals / harmonies

Letitgo (Come): One of his best singles from the nineties, simple and catchy but not shallow, in the way of 'strange relationship'.

Graffiti Bridge (Graffiti Bridge): Yes, one of the most hated Prince-songs among fans, yes, its cheesy (in its lyrics), but on the other hand, the arrangement is breathtaking and impressive, the guitarwork is splendid, in its sort, a musical-song, its very good.

Live4love (Diamonds and Pearls): sounds like Prince its influenced by the manchestersound, feauturing a stone roses-like rhythem (great drumming by Michael Bland), combined with great guitarwork, Queen-like vocal harmonies, sound effects and a lot of energy, this is an underrated funk-rock track.

Dark (Come): one of his more understated ballads (musicwise), using old-style R&B instrumentation, a surprising Beatles-like bridge, and heartfelt vocals. Benefits from its simple, 'clean' delivery.

It (Sign of the Times): again, a song that many fans seem to hate, maybe because there isnt much musical development in the song, but for me thats its strength, the bleak, electronic sound emphatises the lyrics of Prince struggling with his sexual obsession, i mean, he doenst real sound happy, being addicted to 'sex', and for me that is wat this track is expressing, therefore the music does 'its thing'.

Interactive (The symbol-CD rom, bootlegs): when i first heard this track it sounded fresh and new, mixing organic, seventies like funk-rock with sound effects, a logical conclusion to what he tried to achieve on the gold experience, the Bass riff of this song is splendid. Unfortunately he did go for 'plastic' mostly with Emancipation.

Calhoun square (Crystall Ball): again a nice, sober funk-rock piece, not overproduced or 'plastic' sounding, great Hendrix like riffing.
