The first album I got was a gift, (1999) I was hooked. I have every album and about one third of my entire collecton was given to me. I remember buying Purple Rain but after that I honestly don't remember which ones I bought and which ones were gifts.

I bought Purple Rain on tape (in '84), then I stole 1999, and bought Controversy not too far after. So then, the third album I bought was Around the World in a Day!

At the same time I bought Lovesexy, I was hanging out at Prince night (in Chicago), saw him in concert twice and had received 3 other Prince albums as gifts so it was like osmosis...all of a sudden I went from casual fan to Prince fan for life...a mere 5 years later I own all the cds except VBoP, Mazarati & A6 (the latter two I have on vinyl). It's a happy sickness.

3121 was the first cd that I actually BOUGHT

Then I bought Graffiti Bridge


Then I bought Musicology

1st album doulble vinyl "1999" loved it and saved up pocket money to buy "Prince" and "Dirty Mind", quite hard to find in Scotland in 1983.
although my mum wasnt happy about me buying them.

Purple Rain,ATWIAD and 1999...all at the same day!
(I had 2 give PR back 2 the friend I borrowed it from and was tired of listening 2 the tape I copied)

- My mother worked at the mall, and found a bag of records and tapes-all Prince (1999, Prince, Dirty Mind, Purple Rain)- in the parking lot, and nobody claimed them, so security gave them back to her. She bought them home, and that was my 1st exposure past the radio.

1) Batman (loved the movie as a kid, and bought the soundtrack at age 9. Still love this album!)

2) ATWIAD (Didn't pick this up until a decade later, and wasn't sure what to make of it... In fact, I'm still not quite sure how I feel about it.)

3) Purple Rain (Blew me away at first listen... haven't looked back since.)
