Because he preaches so much about keeping real music alive and she is one of the artists that makes the exact same type of so-called music that he bitches about. Also, if it weren't for this type of so-called music flooding the airwaves, something else could come along. Performing with her is only contributing more to the problem and helping someone like her to gain even more popularity than they already have and don't deserve. Not to mention, making himself look like a fool and a hypocrit also.

He refused to participate with other artists on the "We Are The World" song in the 1980s when artists were actually good. It really makes him look like a damn fool participating with other so-artists now when music is absolute bullshit.

BIG mistake, if it's true.

I mean... MAJOR error in judgement.

The audience involved considers Prince 2 be a former Pop Star more than they consider him an incredibly talented musician, and BLAZIN' guitarist. 2 have Beyonce there would just reinforce the public perception of him, and do NOTHING 2 open their ears and minds 2 a "force" they knew nothing about... Even if he does play his heart out, with Beyonce there, it will do no good. She would only distract from his power as a legendary musical force.

If it wasn't a waste of prayer, I'd be praying that this wasn't true.

The sidekick/duet thang ain't working 4 me... Give me the musical trailblazer all on his own, with a band, any day...

Exactly. I hope this is just a rumour. He's got less than 15 minutes to set the place on fire and he don't need no help. All he needs is his guitar.

I like Beyonce but I don't need to see her everywhere I look. She's good but she aint THAT good. Huge distraction from what's important. THE MUSIC!
Prince, in you I found a kindred spirit...Rest In Paradise.

As much as I HATE to admit this, I think it may be true. First of all, the halftime show is typically NOT one artist by themselves, it's usually multiple acts on stage. Secondly, I found this:

"Others like the entertainment of the halftime show. Prince, and Beyoncé will entertain the crowd during the Pepsi Super Bowl XLI Halftime Show. This is the first time Pepsi, which has been an NFL sponsor for five seasons, has sponsored the halftime show. Meanwhile, the legendary Cirque Du Soleil has been reported to perform as the pre-game act and Billy Joel will kick off the game with the National Anthem."

I just want to see Prince perform @ the superbowl. I am not the best or god or whatever. But, I would be the happiest girl in the whole whateverness if PRINCE did the halftime show all by himself and his cool instrument. It would make my life. Aaawwww! I just really want to see Prince. that's all. i hope that is okay cuz in my thoughts Prince is performing for the whole world in a way since it is the bowl. I want Prince to be PRINCE! besides Prince does better alone anyways.

I just hope the rumor isn't true.

Yes, you are correct. I forgot it was worded that way, thanks.

I PRAY PRAY PRAY this doesn't happen! I don't like that fake ass beotch and never want to see her on a stage with P ever again. I just read this thing that her crazy dad said:

Knowles told reporters back stage at the Beverly Hills Hilton right after the Golden Globes show ended that his daughter was outcasted and overlooked by a bureaucratic good old boy system that is still alive in 2007 as it was in 1967. "Today is MLK's birthday and it saddens me to say that things have not changed for blacks. Working class blacks and blacks in Hollywood are still being discriminated against. We still have a long way to go," he said."

So, in his eyes, she didn't win because of discrimination...sheesh. Never mind that Eddie Murphy, Forest Whitaker, Jennifer Hudson, Prince and the movie Dreamgirls all won awards. stfu

ok..i'mma bout to cuz...WTF is this fool talking about. He needs to stop pimpin his child.

I liked Prince and Beyonce at the Grammys. I'm just tired of her. She needs to go about for about three years.

Yo Vain, I don't want to see Yonce perform with Prince as well; but for an entirely different reason...I just don't want folks to say that dude had to pull out Beyounce again to juice up the act (the first performance was cool and made some serious noise...But I don't need to see it again...)

But I think you are confusing things...Prince being a hypocrite for performing with Beyonce makes little sense...No one would ever even put Beyonce in the category of hip hop or shit-hop as you call it...She's R&B...Yeah, that chick is overexposed like a motherfucker...But I don't hear too many folks saying she's talentless....I hear that she's annoying as all hell...

Prince's beef with today's music is with motherfuckers that can't put on a show, sing/perform live and lipsynch...Beyonce is a lot of things (hell, we can agree that she's grating at times...) But the broad can at least sing live...Certainly more than other female artists that Prince has worked with over the years (Like Apollonia and Vanity sounded like Aretha Franklin...wtf...lol)

This thread is about Prince and Beyonce. That'swhy Matthew's name was brought up. Prince's dad was not his manager and didn't pimp his son for profit.

It's almost a known fact that Matthew is shady as hell and has done some underhanded things in order to benefit Beyonce. He has had that girl dancing in stilletos since she was 12 years old( Beyonce's words not mine), dressing in provocative clothes since she was a teenager, etc.

I've dogged out Jessica Simpson's dad. I don't know if Britney's mother is still her manager, but I am disgusted with the fact that she also pimped out her daughter and allowed her to pose in lingerie on the cover of RS and sing provocative songs as a teenager. Usher's mom allowed 15 year old Usher to go to NY by himself to live with Puffy and be exposed to only God knows what. I'll bash any parent manager that I feel is pimping their child.

It kills me to think that it COULD happen, it's...like...bile, rising to the throat and burnig it's way back down. Im so over Beyonce and all about Prince. Its not even the fact that he could perform with someone else, when he performed with India Arie, Stevie Wonder & Chaka Khan & Yolanda Adams it was heaven. It's the fact that Beyonce is so overexposed and sensationalized, IT MAKES ME SICK!!!

That's a dumb ass question.

There's a difference in a supportive parent and a parent that will pimp out his child for his own personal gain. I don't even view Joe Jackson as bad as I do Matthew Knowles.

Yes Prince doesn't need the help of Beyonce to turn the SuperBowl out... so she can stay home and think up a new way to upstage Jennifer Hudson.

I do not really wanna see him perform with any special guests...especially not Beyonce.

I feel it is about time he "shined" on his own. To see so many established musicians relying on today's "hottest" acts for support sickens me.

I think this will be a bad choice if he does perform with her...he needs to show "them" he can do it on his own, thus getting some of the credit he deserves.

Every documentary, article, or TV show I've ever seen mentioning her has described her as either "R&B and hip hop", "Hip hop style R&B", etc. and they are exactly right. Hip hop isn't just rapping, hip hop is a sound and she definately has that sound.....midtempo, weak sounding drum machines that barely tap, weak fake sounding bass, stripped down instruments, samples, etc.....in other words, anything boring.

When he promoted his "Musicology" tour, he said "bring the kids so they can see what real music sounds like so we won't get a new generation of computer programmers instead of musicians"....it was the Jay Lenno show to be exact. Beyonce does not have real music. As far as being able to sing live, I could care less. Singing doesn't make my ass shake....music does.....and that's something she ain't got. Even if she may have a live band in concert, she doesn't have one on her CDs and those are what get played on the radio and influence other people. A style change in music will never occur if people don't start using live instruments on their records and I'm not going to support anything that keeps today's music the way it is....including Prince.

As far as Apollonia or Vanity, I don't care if they can sing or not. Their music is what was slammin' and that's what counts with me. People put too much damn focus on singing these days. Singing ain't shit without some hard kickass music behind it.
