a "new" prince live album on iTunes... http://phobos.apple.com/W...7&s=143441
Released Feb. 6th 2007 17 tracks.. whats this about.. sounds kindof recent.. like ONA tour but some are studio! WTF Tracklisting: Uptown (studio..?) I don't think there are supposed to be studio recordings on there. Granted, if you listen to the 30 second samples, you hear the studio versions of some songs but I think this is just a mistake on Apple's part. If the same song appears on different albums (for Example "When Doves Cry" is on Purple Rain, The Hits, and Very Best Of) Apple will use the same sound clip for everything. I'm willing to bet that some of these songs are just accidentally linked to the wrong versions. Still, I'd be curious to know if anyone here has actually purchased it and if it's worthwhile? | |

It's an audio rip of that crappy bootleg DVD 'In Motion'.
It's a mixture of regular studio tracks and live tracks ripped from the Aladdin DVD (plus one non Prince track tagged on the end for some reason). I'm surprised Prince's laywers haven't got this thing pulled by now. | |

I just wrote a review, which probably won't get posted, but here it is anyway: This album is a bootleg - not official. Total post-Superbowl cash-in. A lot of these tracks aren't even live - they're just the Warner Bros studio tracks pasted on. The live tracks are taken from the Prince - Live At The Aladdin DVD, which is worth getting just for 1+1+1=3, the most funky live version of this song (or almost any song) I've ever heard.
Shadows In The Dark is not even a Prince song - I don't know who it is, but it sounds nothing like Prince. And the track titled "Push" (a Prince track from Diamonds And Pearls) is actually "Push And Pull" (a Nikka Costa track here played on the Aladdin DVD by Prince and Nikka Costa). AVOID! THIS WILL BE TAKEN DOWN SOON ANYWAY! Of course, if Prince wanted to release a live album on iTunes today, he would totally cash-in and I would have no problem with it at all.
