Prince Interactive Game

ANyone have this? I got it in 94 I think it was introduced to the public in 93. In any case...I've never ever completed the game! There is one room where it is SO hard to get the last piece.

Does anyone have this game?

I copied this from the prince.org faq:

"3.7 Why can't I operate the safe in the Interactive CD-ROM game?

For whatever reason, the safe doesn't work unless you set your display resolution to 640 x 480."

Try that.

I remember seeing it in action at the NPG Store in London and being really impressed with the graphics.

Playing it now and it's somewhat, erm, primitive.

I do like the fact that it uses a similar style to the Myst games which are my all-time favourite PC games.

That one worked for me. If you complete the puzzle, you get to watch a very cool video. If you can't complete it, try opening the files up, look under "media" and find "finale" - that should be the one you want.

My dad got it for me as part of a CD-ROM "multipack". I got the version that does not play Interactive in a normal CD player. Some do.

It doesn't work on any computers of anyone I know, but I keep it for collector reasons. I can still view all the contents, and it's fun to sometimes watch the vids without having to play the game (just browse through the file structure to find the .mov files).

Overall, quite innovative for the time it came out.

Really though, play ANY games from that era and they would ALL seem primitive. I think I'm one of the minority who thinks video games have gone too far with graphics. I actually dig what the Wii is doing - somewhere along the line video games stopped being "games".
