I'm listening 2 this record and falling in love with it again

.
.
.
3121

It had been a long time since I didn't hear it.
I didn't remember how much I love it.
I love Támar in the backgrounds.
I love FURY's guitar solos.
I love THE DANCE's screaming.
I love GET ON THE BOAT's Sheila E.
I love Camille on 3121.
I love the chorus on LOVE.
I love the lyrics on SATISFIED.
I love the vocals on INCENSE AND CANDLES and BEAUTIFUL, LOVED AND BLESSED.
I love the beat on BLACK SWEAT.
I love the latin TE AMO CORAZÓN.
I love the message on THE WORD.
I like LOLITA.

I love this record.
Prince is the shit.

I think the black album might fall into my top 5 someday....
but....it's taken me like 15 years to nail down a top 3 so....don't hold ya breath lol

I loved Batman the first time I got it. The Future and Vicki Waiting were like two of my fave Prince songs EVER when i'd 1st listened to it lol (Vicki Waiting probably still is).
I kinda like The Vault...love She Spoke 2 Me and When The Lights Go Down, those two kick my ass, but I think it is what it is: a collection of throwaway tracks to please WB's.

You should take the time to figure out what your fave albums are...it'll give ya the chance to properly look into all of Prince's work again.

I know what you mean. I was driving home the other day playing this CD, and caught the Prince spirit on "Satisfied"...especially when the part: I'm gonna seek this thing like a buried treasure--seek and destroy!

I found myself playing it back like three times it was so funkay. biggrin

You don't even know my top five. tease

If i'm being completely honest all the albums outside of those top 5 change constantly...it's very hard to narrow down Prince's work to find out what you like and don't like.

It's funny because when it's been a while since I listened to it and I just think about the music I think that it's an ok album. Not awesome, but not bad either. Nothing more. But then when I play it again after a short brake, I realize that the album is more than "ok". Not one bad song. To me Fury, for example, is a song that deserves more recognition than it gets. It's really powerful. And The Dance makes me speechless. That song is so beautiful, passionate, gripping. When he starts to scream, that's it. I get teary eyed. Pure PASSION. That's when I get a little annoyed that Get on the Boat comes right after. It's like, take it easy man, you got me all mushy and crying and now you go on like that... Let me calm down! Kinda like when that so beloved (ehem) song Mr. Happy comes right after the tremendously beautiful I Can't Make U Love Me. It ruins the mood. But Get on the Boat is a better song than Mr. Happy and after a minute or so I forgive him and start dancing along. lol.

You know I never thought of it that way, and perhaps that would have worked very well. Could you imagined if he would have ended the CD with the Dance? You're left captivated and breathless and just like that it's over.

lol ...Can you imagine if he sings "the Dance" as part of his tour? If there is one...they'll have to have the EMT there with some stretchers..because if he does that scream...it's going to be some drama...I'm not kidding...
They'll need to have a couple of these available for all the screaming and fainting women.....

"Just one?..Naaahh..we'll need at least 1,000 of these!..."

They could give out pamphlets before entering the venue to fans to show them how to help the EMT guys when carrying out all the fainting women...:

EMS worker #1: "Come on breathe...that's right breaattthhhhe.. see she's okay...look at the smile on her face, she just got a little princified that's all...must've been that scream again from "The Dance" song on the 3121 cd..yep..looks like that's what it was..matter or fact, I gotta listen to
that cd when I get home tonight...it's a fantastic cd, have you heard it yet?...EMS worker #2: Not yet, but I'll be picking a copy up tonight"

If that doesn't work..and the victims become "Princified"..then get the "chuch" fan...a temporary saving tool... lol

"The 'Chuch fan'...it works...sometimes.."

If all else fails..then get the "Chuch lady"..dial 1-800-pls-save..fit "I know...I know..it's not fair..it just ain't fair sometimes..lawd help us all....(sigh).."

I played 3121 not to long ago while I was on the subway and I forgot how great this CD is. It's a kickass CD and it deserves all the props it gets. Prince did the damn thing on this CD and hopefully high profile gigs like the Superbowl can get people to pick up this CD so that they can see how great it is too.
I'm not a fan of "old Prince". I'm not a fan of "new Prince". I'm just a fan of Prince. Simple as that
