Hey orgers, I recently purchased "For You" to add to my collection. Just wondering what your thoughts were for this initial Prince effort

"Baby" is the most played song on the iPod. So sweet

I bought it not too long ago myself. I thought it was very sweet. I kept trying to picture the young Prince trying to put this together. Some of the songs are a little to discoey but I love the opening For You, My Love is Forever is something I can dance to, I also love Blue and we all know Soft and Wet is a classic.

My first album purchased, I loved it but the sheep didn’t they used 2 scarper up the hill with shock and horror written over their faces and no im not I just remembered I got a smack for doing that

'I'm urs' is a early indication of Prince loud funk. That song wouldn't be out of place if it was rearranged or remastered of now.

It's an alright effort, but I still like this one better than his 1979 sophmore record at least.

Great album.Great purchase.

I like it, think it's a good debut. Crazy You and I'm Yours are my fave tracks.

I loved it when he released it and I love it now. To me it shows the beginning of his fantastic gift. I glad you got it. 'Soft and Wet' the classic, 'Just as Long as We're Together', 'I'm Your's' are great.

He was so fresh and untainted back then...

Is it wierd the "So Blue" is my fave pre-80s song of his???

I bought it right after I heard "Crazy You" on NPGMC and thought it was a good effort.

I wondered if I had bought it back then, would I follow Prince to his greatness, 1999? You know, buy each Album just because it was a Prince album? Kinda like I buy every Outcast release just because it's Outcast and I have lived in Atlanta since they put their first release out.
