Do Me Baby Appreciation Thread

I first heard Do Me Baby in 1982 at the tender age of 10 lol . It really enlightened an innocent mind lol So thanks to Prince for making such a great, timeless tune that still takes me back to a time when such things could be said, but in a classier way unlike many of today's songs that are just trashy. What's your thoughts on this song? eek

LOL Anytime! While some may debate that Andre Cymone is the "biological" father of that song, Prince is the one who "raised it as his own"! lol

It is heavily rumoured that Prince borrowed the basic blueprint from Andre...alot of people around him at the time claim this is true. shrug

The first time I heard this song was on the Purple Rain Live video and I thought 'wow' this song is amazing - he looked fantastic singing it - in that sparkly black outfit - the way he moved etc - wink

Really?
And Andre didn't sue?

Get real.

'Twas the best song on the album that year. Real classic.
Malissa Morgan's version wasn't too bad either. In fact her version was also a hit.

How come Andre still didn't sue if this was "his" song originally?

The space in this song creates an amazing tension. I always imagine two people, getting naked, in a large victorian room with hardwood floors, and no distractions.

Really. He shoulda left his sweater on and turned up the thermostat before he hit "record." We might have been spared one of the silliest lines in Prince history. lol

That moaning bit he did at the end gave me an asthma attack.

Like that second, really sharp "Ah!" that he does--you know the one that sounds like it came out of his tear duct rather than his mouth? I can literally hear semen hitting the mother(bleeping) wall when he says that.

eek Nurse, thank you sooo much for this thread. "Do Me, Baby" is my all-time favorite naughty Prince song. I love the album version soo much, that I can't listen to any other version, because I know he's not going to do all that wonderful screaming....awwww, the screaming drool It's soo beautiful.

I guess it's a good thing that Prince doesn't perform the dirty songs anymore, because if I say him perform this one live, I'd be that girl being pulled off his leg.

"Do Me, Baby" is definitely on the top of my "You're getting some tonight" list. Second and third on that list are "Adore" and "Insatiable", followed by "Here and Now" by Luther Vandross; and "Anytime, Anyplace" by Janet.... neutral now, I got myself all worked up and excited, damn.
