Graffiti Bridge VS Moonwalker

I see potential for a "Flinstones meets the Jetsons" sort of moment here. Michael is running to seven corners.

Both MJ and Prince are talented, but Prince holds the position as the ultimate musician. wink

This is about movies man lol

"moonwalker" all the way for me. I love how faux Speilberg the mini movie "smooth criminal" is.

And Prince couldn't get Joe Pesci....."hiya pal" (wrong movie but still)

Well, when it comes to the movie ... I'd have to choose Moonwalker. I was mesmerized by MJ's moves. razz

Prince's "tick tick bang" moves didn't leave you salivating then?

Yeah, "smooth criminal" was the bit I tried to copy as a kid.

At least Mike could laugh at himself a little in the movie, but Prince actually took his movie seriously LOL.

- this pic reminds me of "third man" a bit. Its a long shot, but maybe?

So theres less shame in liking "Graffiti bridge" over "moonwalker"? lol Seriously, none of my mates or past girlfriends can sit through "GB", but can "moonwalker". Our generation grew up on that film. I do like "GB" in some ways. I like how its dark all the time for example, and how Prince lives in a sewer like a ninja turtle (yet likes to sleep rough aswell for some reason?)

But for "leave me alone" and "smooth criminal" alone, "moonwalker" is less embarrassing. As a kid, i loved "moonwalker" and "graffiti bridge", but "moonwalker" is still the more enjoyable movie for me.

Well MJ just plain irritates me now...I think Graffiti Bridge has a good message..I love the music in the film the best. Oh yeah and Prince just looks like a plain sex stick in it too so you know...that helps... razz ...but seriously I can see how Prince really tried to make this a positive moive with fun music and a cool "look" for it's day.

As a kid, what film did you prefer? I do love the lighting and atmos' in "GB". Again very much of its time period, and i love that time period LOL.

I love the music in "GB" aswell. And the title track is spared until the end credits which is a plus.

Bytheway, why do you see prince sleeping outside on the steps in one scene for? I think its near the beginning of the movie, and he is reciting that "are there any angels..." bit, and you just see him, randomly sleeping it rough like a bum? Why is that?

"GB"'s message is well um, uh,..spirituality in music is the sort of stuff angels prefer to listen to?

As a kid I think I liked Moonwalker the best because I was a huge MJ fan..but I REALLY got a kick out of Prince and Madonna both because they were really sexy and more risque and adult and even when I was supposedly too young to be thinking about things like that I was anyway... razz ..

but I love GB the most now because to me it carries a message that I find inspiring...like when you feel torn inside because "this" world makes it so easy to go after the wrong things in life and ignore your spirtual growth and your inner self telling you how important it is to sometimes just be yourself and risk being an outcast because you might be so ahead of others spirtually but how in the long run it benifits you and others as well if you can lead a positive example.

My favorite part in the movie is when Prince is getting down on himself and feeling sorry for himself saying how "Nobody likes his music" You kinda understand that he feels really alienated and alone but Ingrid Chavez is there to let him know that what he is doing has meaning and it is ok to be different. I loved how she built up his self esteem in the movie.

Sorry I know I read alot into that movie but I just understand where the main character is coming from alot in that movie sometimes.

Thats OK your passionate about the movie. Yeah, i think we can all relate to feeling like an outcast. And he was doing what he wanted to do, even though nobody cared and said it was the wrong thing to do, that is inspiring I guess. I never thought about it as deep as that LOL

Still, Mike turns into a car, a robot and a spaceship. So there!

CoolMF

That's a tough one for me, but I'll take a stab:

Moonwalker is cool, but it's a collection of videos and short films. It's hard to judge most of Moonwalker on it's pure merits in light of what's happened to MJJ in the last 10 years. Speed Demon and Leave Me Alone are kinda like pedophile fantasies. Same with "Smooth Criminal".

And let's be real, the only cool thing about the "Smooth Criminal" featurette is the actual video part with the great dancing. I could do without the running with the kids, changing into an airplane, and the kids trying to reconnect with Michael.

Now Captain Eo, on the other hand...

As for Grafitti Bridge, I never understood it. It's too fantasy, gay in some scenes, and the stongest music scenes are in the 1st half of the movie. The movie starts with Morris trying to buy out the Kid for Glam Slam, the Kid had more financial and girl problems, and ends with everyone holding up Prince like he's on the cross and singing together. What did I miss in the plot it still doesn't make sense to me.

BUT I'VE ALWAYS HATED THE SCENE WHERE PRINCE CHALLENGES MORRIS (WHILE JELLYBEAN AND JESSE ARE HOLDING HIM) AND, ONCE THE SCENE'S OVER, PRINCE SMILES, JUMPS, AND THEN SKIPS OUT OF THE PICTURE!!!

So my verdict is...Grafitti Bridge. Mike's having too much fun with those kids throughout Moonwalker for me consider it entertaining.

Oh Lord, both of these are horrible! However, as corny as hell as "Graffiti Bridge" is, at least Prince is not running around in fields and playing with little kids.
