Funerals SUCK!!!!! hell my family wouldn't even have funerals if they could by pass it. We don't even do the whole viewing of the body. How are you gonna make someones death a damn competition? You know; I completely forgot about him not going to his parents' funerals. This is obviously the way Prince deals with death. If, as some people suggest, he shares their opinion and would rather remember the life of someone than their appearance in death, cool. Like I said at the beginning, no judgement, just a comment.
Like a number of people here, I have been 'dragged' to funerals and I have chosen to go to funerals because I wanted to pay my last respects. Each to their own. It was just an idle thought, that's all, that I would have expected to see Prince at James Brown's funeral. | |

How do y'all know he didnt attend the funeral, contact the family or participate in some way? He posted condolences on his website since last week.. The fact that you dont know what he did is just that. | |

I just wonder how many stars and famous people would attend such an event, not because they give a damn, but because they're publicist recommended it and it garners publicity and attention- good for the career. In the limelight, seen by the media, pictures taken.
And who made up the rule that just because people are in the same profession they somehow are obligated to attend all their collegues' funerals? I'm thinkin of a line from Dawn of the Dead where Ving Rhames says: Better him than me!!! | |
