If they do it Walk The Line-style with original performances, I could see a cat like Prince helping with performances, musical arrangements, etc.

I don't see them using a musician. I think they'll use an actor.

Prince was probably most overall like James Brown (not his physique) during the Parade Tour which was supposed to be a bit like a James Brown style show in style and attitude.

Yes they are.
I'd líke 2 c prince mess it up but I'm sure he won't be offered the role, because he's so difficult to work with. Even if he was offered it he'd wisely turn it down, he's a useless actor and he knows it.
There's plenty of unknown black talent out there.
We might get lucky

No, Prince should not play JB in the upcoming biopic. They should use an actor, preferably unknown and definitely not a comedian. I don't want to see Wayne Brady or Eddie Murphy playing JB.

Nah, probably not James Brown, but he could've done the Little Richard movie
for sure.

Maybe a cross between Jimmy Walker and Wesley Snipes would work.

A suggestion . . .

My vote goes to either Michael Wright (pictured) or Leon, both of whom are underrated actors, and both of whom have played fictional singers of that era in The Five Heartbeats.

Leon also played Eddie Kendricks in the Temptations' telepic.
