Prince has his own style unlike MJ,He's a soloist with his own music,MJ mostly have people write his,so weather he get the largest audience or not, also cosidering his 2010 second nomination into the music hall of Fame somthing not even MJ been elected for, that makes him king of music period. Acutaly he's already been inducted into the hall of fame twice. (as a memeber of the Jackson 5. and as a solo artist)

Think of Mj has 3 bus tokens and a donut. People need not count MJ out of the music industry, he just needs to reinvent himself like prince has and other long time pioneers of music. . Mj can do it with the right way to come back like prince did. . Prince will really have to step thios moment up which i know he will with his great marketing mind and out do an other superbowl performances . . [Edited 12/21/06 6:34am] TAPMUG!

Performance wise, P will get the people talking if he covers songs that the mainstream knows (Kiss, LGC, Purple Rain). If he goes into stuff from his 90's works(that didn't resonate with the masses), he will lose his audience. Give the masses what they want, especially with an audience over a quarter billion people. What are you, high? "Unknown commodity?" What planet have you been living on? Planet Neverland? Viewing this objectively: I am not an MJ fan, but historically, when people think of P, they think of P in regards to his really OLD stuff (LRC, PR, SOTT). That is not a bad thing though. He avoids the limelight, and prefers to throw his art out for the masses, which sometimes bite on whatever he may be pitching (e.g-Musicology, Grammy performance). I have been a Prince fan for almost 20 something years, but even I admit P undersold himself on many occasions, so while it is nice to see him so visible now, a majority of the viewing public really wouldn't appreciate some of the gems of the last 15 or so years. HIs lack of being tabloid fodder makes him a "unknown commodity" to the masses, who seemingly get their news from various media outlets. Those of us in the know(people of the Org & P universe(including the lunatic fringe from the NPGMC)) know the real story. Think before you attack next time. "Old man's gotta be the old man. Fish has got to be the fish."

Pretty silly question. The answer in short, yes. Do you just count numbers viewing or the amount of hype following up to and after the show? The work on different levels so I don't compare the two but there's your answer in my opinion for what it's worth. I think P will wow the crowd there and the crowd watching, the hype will reverberate.

Prince will probably give the best performance that the Superbowl has ever had, but we all know he won't get the respect or acknowledgement that he deserves.
