Did Anyone See The Joffrey's Billboards Show?

You all might've covered this b4, but i was just wondering if anyone saw the Joffrey Ballet's Billboards show, which was done to all Prince music. I thought it was great, would like to see them do another version

I saw the show his then wife Mayte produced that premiered at the Music Hall. Don't ask me what the show was like because I couldn't tell you. Prince and I played "Peek-A-Boo" that night and that's all I remember! lol

Coming from the ladies room after intermission, I saw Prince standing at the back of the theatre with Mayte. When I got to my seat I told my friends that Prince was 5 rows directly behind us, when they turned to look...Prince ducked behind Mayte and you could not see him. So I turned again, Prince looked at me and smiled and of course I told my friends to look...and when they did...he was gone again. So I tried to sneak a peak behind me...there he was again...smiling...I waited a few seconds...peaked again...he wasn't looking my way...I tapped my friend to the left of me and discreetly pointed to the back...when she turned...all she saw was Mayte and a bodyguard...the next thing I know she was taking my drink and my keys...I looked back again and Prince laughed and waved as he walked out.

I was redeemed though after it ended because as we walked out...there he was in the green room with the door was opened and they all saw him but they didn't get any smiles! cool

Yes. Saw it on video and saw it live. It wasn't very good. A few nice ideas, but, in my opinion, failed as a whole.

I saw it at Lincoln Center in NYC. I enjoyed the experience. The only number I remember really enjoying was "Question of U".

I watched the video back in August- I was talking to a friend who had never seen it, so we watched it. I hadn't seen it since I first bought it.

"Love Hurts.
Your lies, they cut me.
Now your words don't mean a thing.
I don't give a damn if you ever loved me..."

I watched it at Washington's Kennedy Center.

I loved the extended "Thunder." The crowd really seemed to like "Willing and Able." ill

I saw the premiere in Iowa City and loved it. I still enjoy it. People make fun of me for still having a laser disc player hooked up in my house, but since I have Billboards (and Latina Familia and a few other gems) on laser disc, it's got to be. On Billboards, I think Purple Rain was well done, and I loved that Release It and Sometimes It Snows in April were included.

I saw it and completely forgot I had. I remember sitting in the theatre, but I am not a huge fan of that sort of show, so other than the music (most of it I had) I wasn't impressed.

Great idea, but I wasnt' the intended audience.

I also saw Glam Slam Ulysses three times... for the music only.
The expanded version of my book PRINCE and The Purple Rain Era Studio Sessions 1983-1984 was released in November 2018. (www.amazon.com/gp/product/1538114623/ref=dbs_a_def_rwt_bibl_vppi_i0) or www.facebook.com/groups/1...104195943/

So did I, we were probably in the same audience. I thought it was great.

Yes, I saw it in Chicago at the Civic Opera House. It was good, not great, but it was a blast to see the Joffrey dancing to Prince's music.

I saw it in San Francisco. A Question of U is my favorite piece in the whole thing. Everybody sang everything at the top of their lungs. It was amazing.
