What -- you don't hear her say "yes" at 4:20?
If that's sadistic, then baby, hurt me some mo'. We don’t mourn artists because we knew them. We mourn them because they helped us know ourselves.

Yet somehow I didn't mind the "verge of rape" lyrics on Extraloveable.

I was always disturbed yet intrigued by that part when I was a kid. And back in the day, radio played the whole song in its entirety.

The whole 1999 album is sado-masochistic. A voice in Automatic says "I'm going to have to torture you now," and there's some freaky machinery noises and crying sounds. He gets punished in "Something in the Water," "Let's Pretend We're Married" is about revenge fucking, and "Lady Cab Driver" is just brutal. It's a cold-hearted album through and through. It's pretty shocking, even by today's standards.

Did Jill Jones act or suffer the punishment?

Wanna hear me sing? www.ChampagneHoneybee.com

The first time I heard that song, I thought "wow, I really wouldn't mind that..." I was a very new fan, mind you, and had officially become a fan probably in the middle of "Delirious," but anyway. I maintain that I really wouldn't mind it, and in fact now would probably encourage it. No, definitely I would encourage it. HE'S COMING AGAIN

I do apologise if I seem to be getting a little off the subject at hand here, but I just wanted to say something else about this song that sticks out for me and that is those great few moments of guitar playing by Prince during the song's bridge in the middle.
I have always really enjoyed this part alot but yet I have never heard anyone really talking about his solos on this song like they do with other cuts on the '1999' album like 'Automatic' or 'All The Critics Love You In NY". I just feel that this is worth pointing out as I feel its one of the most overlooked moments on the '1999' album and of the 'LCD' song in particular.

I think this is probably my favourite Prince song.
I just love listening to the vinyl version - the bass line is just purely FANTASTIC. I've said this before but we had some friends round with this track playing in the background and they couldn't believe it was no a song released this year - they thought it sounded so fresh. I'm off to listen to it on my IPOD now
