it was my theme song for a while...nod

it says something profoundly true about the human condition - how hard it is to relate to others, even though we are all essentially the same inside.

great track but prone to those cheesy synth runs he's grown so fond of since the late 90's, with a tweak or 2 it could have been a Bond theme!

Once was a golden idol that went 2 the winner,
Needless to say it didn't make him feel any less a sinner
Cause the very next morning the whole damn world was the same (yes it was)
The idols still shining but the voice inside him said there aint no winners in this game.

One of my favourite lyrics

Are you thinking of "Last December" - this is about a different December called "The Same December" from C&D. Have a great December by the way!

I first remember seeing the video for this during the Gold Experience tour.

Superb song!

Though I suspect its true colours will never be appreciated until someone like Kenny G turns their attentions to it.

Ha yeah, could be that GeminiBrown was mistaken... but the basic themes found on TRC first show up in "Chaos & Disorder," actually. I thought that's what s/he was saying...

Yeah, that change does sound similar to "Live and Let Die"...

EDIT: I would have really loved C & D, if it didn't have the synths, horns and the R & B style female backing vocals... Into the Light is so cool, but spoiled IMO but the trumpets and sax... sad

I wonder what plans Prince had for this song, and empty room and zannalee? They had videos made (played before concerts), but then things went bad with WB and whatever was going happen didn't.

It's a great song. I love its energy.
The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.
