Remember the past mad scramble for now tunes? Back int he day, when my holy fire for Prince's albums still burned high, I would sit next to a taperecorder (yeah, I am from that era), just to be able to tape the first play of Prince's laterst tune on the radio.

I remember that holy fire feeling as 'Now' from The Gold Experience is playing on my system, coming up randomly, as I got my system on shuffle.
I remember following Prince's dispute with WB, which I did not care about at all, except that now Prince was leaking his new material straight to radio...
I remember Days Of Wild. I remember Acknowledge Me. Played on radio. Me taping liek crazy. I remember reading the magazines. The interview in Vibe, dropping titles, making me imagine.

I have a few other songs like that. Back in the days when Prince's music still mattered to the masses, they played even the b-sides to the new singles cuz they were special. I remember La, La, La, He, He, Hee being played. Tracks like that can still make me love Prince's music a bit deeper than the stuff he has been unloading on us since Emancipation.

So, what song re-ignites your holy fire? I am curious to find out what your holy fire songs are. They may not even be your faves, like Now did not really age gracefully, but still can make my blood pump a lil' harder.
I often have it with lead singles, from the days when Prince's music still was in the charts. It's the Sign The Times's, it's the Thieves In The Temple's. Often also my fave of the new album, you know, that first fave song you play over and over again cuz you can't believe the dopeness of it all, like Housequake back in the day.
