Prince would never do a worthless performance neither in a living room. What I was meaning is that Prince is able 2 performance even without a band. I wish I had his experience of lifetime...

I'm sayin'....that this is a UK Rock and Roll hall of fame performance we are talking about here....not just some living room jam session. I would think that if P were to give a performance he'd want to give a performance of a life time...not just some lil diddy. Now, I would totally love it if he'd just played an accoustic number but...I can also see that might not be a very stellar performance for a Rock and Roll hall of fame induction performance.

I can actually sympathize with the origional poster. Can we as Americans imagine Prince being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and he is the ONLY inductee to NOT perform? Despite us being familiar with Prince's antics over the years, many of us would not be pleased if such a thing happened.

Prince is known for being notorious for his unconventional behavior but just because he is known for it doesn't make it any less frustrating for fans at times. It's like paying $125.00 to see him perform and he comes out and only plays "Kiss" and leaves. I'm sure there would be fans on this site that say, "Well just be greatful he played a song, afterall Prince is going to do what he wants". But on the flip side of that there are those that would be pissed and they would have a ligitimate reason to be, despite Prince's reputation.

And I'm sorry but that whole, "I didn't perform because I didn't have a band" is a some bullsh*t. I don't have proof to back this statement, but it's not like Prince found out a couple of hours previous that he was being inducted into the British Hall of Fame. I'll bet he had adequate time to make arrangements for his band to perform.

If he couldn't perform due to contractual reasons then he should have had a spokesman say something to the effect of "Prince would love to have performed but he couldn't at this time but will surely make up for it in the future". That would have been ideal. But because I am familiar with Prince I am realistic to know such a statement would have been terribly uncharacteristic and frankly I wouldn't have expected that. This was just ideal for me.

Anyway, It would have been great if he could have performed and it's unfortunate he didn't. I also think those that were disappointed he didn't, have a legitimate "beef" as well.

I was disappointed he didn't do a number with Morrissey and Marr, but meh.
