P did "do" a Paul Stanley pose dead on, on the cover of Rolling Stone. Not his first with Vanity, but his second. Any true KISS fan can spot this. Just like George Clinton did a Stanley pose on the cover of "The Clones of Dr. Funkenstien". Anyway, P borrowed waaaay more from Leif Garret during P's second album period. Not just the hair, but his mannerisms, movements, etc. Look at the inner sleeve pic to his second album, with the leather jacket. Dead on Leif. If u ever get the chance to view an episode of CHIPS where Leif is the guest star, u will basically see the blueprint to P's acting style in Purple Rain. Another Leif connection is during the late 70's in teen magazines, they would always put a pic of Leif and Paul side by side. All the teen mags did it. From 16 magazine to Teen Beat to Tiger Beat. They all did it. And it was because Leif and Paul resembled. It's ironic that u put a pic of P's second album next to Paul, because Paul has stated that this is when he got into Prince's music. He has said that he loves this album. Gene and Paul both have seen P several times live during the early 80's.
