I agree with the summation. I hate that the very excited fan has been crucified while sharing her excitement. Shoot, I text messaged everyone (friends/family and clients) in my phone immediately after I got off stage with Prince and it was 2am (only one person got on my case about it). Not exactly the same, but still kind of inappropriate and it was all because of excitement. Andgodcreatedwoman1, I will say you put yourself in danger because the security could have jacked you up. You must be extra cute. Just kidding, but be careful in the future. I know, like a lot of us, in your head: you and Prince are homies-lovers and/or friends but in reality...it ain't so.

I WAS THERE!!! She creeped me the hell out. TRUE STORY: during one of the soundchecks in Chicago for ONA, this one woman got really too close to the P man. She started pawing at him and trying to get close to him. He was sitting with the fans in the audience chairs. And he got MAD. He kept saying "ma'am, please, stay away", but she wouldn't listen. So finally Trevor came along and dragged her away. [Edited 11/13/06 13:40pm]

And then, you think touching his bare chest is inappropriate...well violence is even more inappropriate as far as I'm concerned... Then, you still don't know me but I don't use poor language when I disagree. Yeah, I'd have to say my natural reaction after a hand on my chest would be my hand upside the culprit's head. Kind of knee-jerk reaction. I'd probably still tell people "Prince touched my boobs" with glee. The husband would find it less amusing. To the point a lot of you are making, I frown when people touch me unnesessarily (accidentally and on purpose), but I'm just like that.

You guys are comparing apples to oranges. Asking Prince for a hug and him saying "yes" is not the same as reaching out and touching his bare chest, UNINVITED. As was stated by another attendee, Security was pulling people's hands from him, so he obviously DOES NOT like it. It just so happens, the poster didn't get stopped or not that she said anyway.
As for being jealous, I don't get it people..what are we supposed to be jealous of?!? That someone acted like they were 13?? I am not jealous of her nor am I saying she's a bad person, only that she acted inappropriately. Anyone over 21 should know better, no matter how excited they are. I know the feeling of wanting to grab his gorgeous self, believe me, but ya gotta have some self control.

You guys, come on. She is a fan. I am a fan. A fan by any other name is still a fan. He is Prince, a HUGE star....LEGENDARY. She was acting on impulse and I am sure many of you high talkers might as well. I was stopped in my tracks by the mere title of this thread not to mention the thought. Some of us out here might be more controlled in our appreciation and some of us are star struck groupies---and there is NOTHING wrong with that. Without his star struck groupies (MYSELF INCLUDED) where would he be? I would probably reach out and touch him, too. To find yourself that close, how could one think as rationally as many of you are expecting? BE REAL.

The guy has walked pass me, talked to me, offered me pizza and probably on seven other occassions, has been within an arm's length. Had zero desire to reach out and touch him. If he wasn't worried about folx, he wouldn't have bodyguards.

Prince stopped and hugged Mayte while he was out on that same lap through the crowd. why don't u Prince police tear up that nugget instead of the actions of a woman who is not a crazy stalker. I never said she was a stalker, just disrespectful. you probably shouldn't become famous then! My art book: http://www.lulu.com/spotl...ecomicskid

Wow, there are some really poor arguments being made in this thread.
Because he's a pop star, that means it's okay for audience members to grope him? What kind of preposterous logic is that? By that rationale, I suppose it's also okay then when a pop star gets stalked. I guess that just comes with the territory also, right? Honestly, that's just absurd. He gets paid to go out there and perform his songs, nothing more. Unless he invites any sort of contact as part of the show, you have no right to invade his personal space. The world is a comedy for those who think and a tragedy for those who feel.
