What if Prince hadn't made it?

Dig, if you will, this picture

'I Wanna Be Your Lover' had flopped, and Prince had been dropped by WB at an early stage.

Could someone with Prince's unique dress sense and personality have gotten along in the real world?

Every time I think of Prince having a bog standard job, my brain just shuts down and I can't even consider it!
In fact Prince not being a success is hard to imagine, but what if??

Prince was destined to rise to the top, if one thing did't work he would have done something else. That face alone woulda made him a star!

I'm sure that thought (not making it) never even crossed his mind. Singleness of purpose is the hallmark of that man's being.

Which is why we're here.

Is it strange that I think he looks like a girl in that pic?

I am such a hypocrite because I love long hair on Prince!
I love a Man who:
Wears More Make Up Than Me.
Wears Four Inch Stilleto Boots.
Changes His Name To An Unpronouncable Symbol.
Who Changes His Name Back From An Unpronouncable Symbol.
Oh And Most Importantly, Who Is Sexy Little Drop Of Butterscotch

I think he'd be an attraction in Minneapolis at the very least. Probably playing in the more popular bands but Id have to agree tht he probably would have made it regardless of any timeline. He's way too talented.

I think the exception would have been if he hadnt made it until now. Talent not being much of a factor these days, he'd have to rely on his image more than anything else and I dont think the "mysterious" thing would have worked too well for him. Today's "music" fans, prefer pop stars over artist/musicians and like them to be extroverted and outgoing and the male stars, masculine.

If he was dropped by WB another label would have snatch him up in heart beat. Thre may not have been hits but the talent was intense. Plenty of labels would want to sign him. The very least Prince could havevever been is being knowen as "the greatest musican to never make it big"
