Live Prince and Overdubs Hi
I was watching the sign O times video at the weekend and yet again wondered how much of the soundtrack was actually live. Its a great video but u just wonder... Its relevant in the light of the new live album...will it really be 'live'. I love raw sound so the least overdubs the better  Live life and be happy | |

i think they are cool... it just makes the music pin pointed in the ear of the performing artist... Prince listens to it and feels if something should stand out more than cool... i think it improves performances by volumes...  | |

...please??? especially when he fucks around with them to the point where you hear more than one prince singing at the same time... perfect example- the newly released "days of wild" single... perfectly good jam until you hear 3 prince voice going at once... and this is supposed to be live..? did he clone himself...?

the problem with overdubs on a live cd is that it defeats the purpose of the live cd... the live cd is to recreate a concert on compact disc format... if shit is overdubbed, then the concert experience is ruined...
one shouldn't have to make improvements on a live recording anyway... that's what makes live recordings so great... they're unpredictable... if it gets touched up and fixed in the studio, then prince might as well release a compilation of studio recordings and place sound clips of audiences into it...
