billy jack bitch - yes there is a longer version that appeared on some of the
earlier configurations of The Gold Experience which leaked into the bootleg
market. It clocks in at about 7:05.

new power generation( 2" to yard) - no official or unreleased version
with this title (though it may just be an offical mix mis-titled, so if you
had a track timing and description that would help in working out whether
this is fan-made or not).

love bizarre - this is actually by Sheila E (featuring Prince), and
it's actually called 'A Love Bizarre' he wrote it of course. There's
a few different 7" and 12" edits of it, but the longest version was the one
included on her Romance 1600 album, which clocks in at 12:18

sign of the times (live studio) - no official or unreleased version
with this title, so it's probably fan made. Or it might be the old Sanny X
DMC remix from 88/89 which was titled 'live and dangerous' and clocks in at
about 6:00.

somebodys sombody(live studio) - officially released on promo, and also
commercially as the b-side to 'The Holy River'. it's called the 'Livestudio mix'
and clocks in at 3:47

insatiable - there is an unreleased longer version, from an early
configuration of the 'Diamonds and Pearls' album. It clocks in at about 8:05

delirious - there is an early unreleased mix of this from the 1999
sessions which clocks in at about 6:04

i hate u - there's a few officially released edits and mixes of this track,
so I'd need a track timing and a bit of a description to know which one it is

darling nikki(unreleased version) - there's a slightly longer unreleased
version from an early incarnation of the 'Purple Rain' album which clocks in
at about 4:45

beautiful one(unreleased; has extra guitar at end) - there's a slightly
longer unreleased version from an early incarnation of the 'Purple Rain' album
which clocks in at about 6:09. It doesn't have 'extra guitar' though, it just
includes an extended part of the spoken part near the end which was edited
down for the album release.

In the case of 'Sign O' The Times (Live Studio)', if what you can hear at the beginning is Prince saying:

"Are we ready?"

"Aweful lot of noise"

"Let me know"

... then this is most likely to be a bootleg recording of a 1987 'Sign O' The Times' tour rehearsal at Paisley Park in April before rehearsals transferred to Birmingham, England.

MikeK, I think it wouldn't hurt you to have a little more trust in what people are answering to your questions. Dudes! I think people are getting mixed up between live concert, rehearsal, official and fake tracks! Stick to Boris' comments and you'll be right, what he's saying is spot on. It is possible you have downloaded a clean soundboard concert or rehearsal song thinking it's a studio version and are fooled. I've actually seen bootlegs with mixes like "Baby Im A Star - long version" and when I've played it it's just been a soundboard from a concert, so it does sound like an "official" track (as opposed to a DJ made fan mix), but it's not an "extended version".


Next there'll be a thread about the rare "1999: Diving With The Whales" remix, and how it should have been on the album!

Why record stuff like that and decide not to release it. It simply gives engineers/aides incentives to smuggle them out one way or another cos fans are always on the lookout for alternative versions of songs.
I never even thought for one sec that the version was unreleased and therefore illegal to own,
