• SOTT (the movie) is WAY overrated! Great concert, but it doesn't hold up as a film. The segues are weak, some back stage stuff would have been so much more interesting - putting the show together, making the album, something real...

***Wendy and Lisa/The Revolution are overrated---I agree! Don't get me wrong,I love the whole 'Purple Rain' era and all.But I was thrilled when Prince started a new band in late 1986.The 'SOTT/Lovesexy' bandmembers are superior to the Revolution,imo.

***The Black album is overrated---Yes! Alot of people talk like it was the best funk album of the 80s or something.It's funky and raunchy,but it's no masterpiece.It sounds like it was recorded very quickly.

***I love the 'Batman' album---I love it too! Too often,Prince's more "commercial" albums get dissed,and people say he "sold out".These people forget that Prince is also a POP ARTIST who occasionally wants to have a little success,like every other artist.

- Kim Basinger was too good for him.

- The NPG parka made him look like a wannabe gay basketball player off-duty.

· I absolutely love the Batman sdtk...I have the Batdance 12" and CD, as well as the Batman in a can limited ed.

· I think Emancipation 3 is brilliant, and the rest is almost as weak as Lovesexy. That's right, Lovesexy can burn. Bleh.

· THE HUMAN BODY IS BRILLIANT. There, I said it.

· I could not give a small bowel movement about Vanity, Appolonia, The Family, Madhouse or whoever. Pandemonium is all right, and I do have the "Waterfall" promo 7" by W&L.

· I have never joined the NPGMC, and skipped the ONA show when it came to town, although I did go to an out-of-state Hit-N-Run.

· Still don't have For You, Dirty Mind or Graffiti Bridge, nor do I care to. I have the Prince promo LP, but only because it was $.25. I consider anything before 1999 (except half of Controversy) to be a historical document.

· The Revolution sounds flat. No funk, too many sixteenth notes.

· I consider exactly zero Prince albums to be five-star albums (them D'Angelo liner notes were right), not even Sign "O" The Times. Too spotty, and there's always an "Arms of Orion" lurking around somewhere.

· Don't have DMSR, read Uptown, or get AMP. I have a couple of magazine covers, though - Bass Player, Paper, Q, the ATWIAD interview, etc.

· Love the album. The Morning Papers, Blue Light, Sexy M.F. - how can you go wrong?

· I got all of my bootlegs except The Undertaker online.

By the way, TLC's "Waterfalls" sounds less like Prince than Paul McCartney, because that's who wrote the chorus.

I threw away all my posters when I was about 18 y/o.

Mayte was and IS hot as can be. Too bad Prince let her slip away. Tommy Lee is a lucky man. Susannah was a hottie too.

I think W&L are extremely talented but did not contribute that much to Prince's music. I like them better solo than I did when they were part of The Revolution. Finally SOTT/Lovesexy band was the BEST of 'em all.

Never heard of Gold Nigga until about a year ago, & still never heard anything from it (and obviously do not own it). Downloaded most of Exodus (bought the Good Life single).

Best boot is "4 Those of U On Valium"...Small Club is good...not as great as everyone says it is.

I don't think this is blasphemy...more just the truth...Graffiti Bridge the movie sucked BAD. He should NEVER write and direct his own movie EVER.

I thought his acting in PR was pretty good for a first time actor. UTCM he is good in parts, but other parts he sucks the big one.

D&P is WAY better than Symbol.

His most underrated album is Come.

New to the 'Org (after lurking for about a month), and decided to toss in my first post on this thread...
My Prince Blasphemies:

* I LOVE the Symbol Album...LOVE it.

* I thought P should've been thumped soundly for a good portion of the over-polished lightweight insincere tripe on "Diamonds and Pearls"...Mostly a horrid album.

* I rather enjoyed "UTCM"...Not an Oscar winner, but not the worst thing I've ever seen...some funny lines and it's beautifully photographed.

* His Kim Basinger period made me question his "drug-free" lifestyle.

* When I saw him face to face in a Miami club about four years ago and he looked me up and down, smiling a little and addressing me with "Hey, sweet thang..", I was too shocked to say anything but "Muh?!?"

* I think his hair during the "Purple Rain" period was incredibly silly-looking, even if it was 1984... He looked like a miniature poodle.

* I didn't get to see the "One Night Alone" tour when it came here because I had to work, even though I already bought tickets...I gave them to another Prince fanatic friend of mine who had a birthday coming up.

* I think Mayte was the ultimate arm-decoration...almost rivaling Carmen Electra, but at least Mayte has SOME talent.

* I like the ass-less pants he wore to the VMAs...mrrrow.

All for now, but I'm sure I'll think of more later.

I don't own a single Prince movie or album except ONA and the Days of Wild cd from the celebration. (I'm not sure why, cause there are some I would like to have)

There are countless songs/albums I have never heard or even heard of. (and I don't care if I ever learn them)

At concerts and at the Celebration I cheered more for Rhonda Smith than I did for Prince (Go Rhonda!! Yeah!!!).

I don't understand a lot of his riddles that everyone else seem to understand. (if that makes sense)

On a personal note:

And it's usually stated in a more calmly matter-of-fact type of way (example: "There's no one else like me. I'm the best you'll ever find" - Automatic), as compared to Morris' EVERYDAY, loud and proud, Daddy persona.

--Rave is the 1st lp I bought and its becoz of the COVER(Not some song :p)

--I like Rave and Graffity Bridge(cd).

--I think '4ever in my life'(The lp version) & 'The ballad of dorothy' are the most OVERRATED songs by his fans.

--I like chaos and disorders(My favorites are I like it there-Dinner with and the selftitle)

--I have neva attended P's concert.

--B4 I was a fan I thought he was SUPER GAY

--I didn't respect him along side with Mariah cuz I thought they were anotha version of MJ(Former black ppl turned white). Lata, I realized they were MIXED.

--I used 2 prefer MJ over P, matta o' fact he used to be my favorite.

--I'm so intrested in his PERSONAL LIFE(Esp back in the 80's)

--Rosie Gains voice gets on my last fucking nerve, but I like her as a person.

--I'm not a FAN of the NPG-neva been neva will

--I don't anderstand why ppl hate K.A.J.

--His 1st 2 lps are the BEST(Unfairly underrated) along side 'SOT' and 'Parade'.

--His acting in PR was louzy but his in UTCM hold the BEST!

--I DISLIKE Ingrid so much, matta o' fact I was neva fond by his girls(Except 4 Mani)

--I like Mariah's version of TBO :p and I hate Sinead's version of NCTY

--I consider him(Along side George Benson) the best guitarists eva.

--I like Rhonda's bass.

--I don't have ANY lps by his artists.

--Jill Jones ARE THE BEST girl and artist he eva had.

--I hate it when P rap and I don't like Tony

--I don't have any cassete single by him(The old ones) which I have 'em but I don't know where can I get 'em.

--I don't like the fact that most ppl(Esp women) hurt by him.

--I want him to act again(COMEDY) or at least a CAMEO.
