It was 20 years ago at the Purple Rain Concert at the Forum in Los Angeles. He had a bathtub on stage, and he got inside and then lifted his pelvis up into the tinsel rain. It doesn't seem like a big deal now, but I was duly impressed and awed at the time. He also had lots of women from the audience dancing in their nighties. I thought that was pretty cool too.

The dance sequence in the Little Red Corvette video when they first showed it on MTV in 1982. I was doing early morning TV in those days and the guys in the control room always put MTV on overnight. I was sitting at a computer making weather graphics and that video came on. The shiny purple raincoat caught my eye and I was transfixed -- and when he got to the dance, I thought I had died and gone to heaven.

It was all over at that point -- and I've never recovered.
