This album sound horrible.It's compressed and distorted; far too loud.
It literally gives me an headache.

For you is better sounding than this and that is the truth.

It's either universal's fault or the actual guy who mastered it but someone needs to be accountable.

If i ever interviewed Prince i would bring this up first.

I wish record labels and engineers wouldn't do this; there is simply no need for it at all.

you can't turn it up and enjoy it because of the distortion and clipping.

I wish someone would remaster you to correct the problem with the same track repeating over and over and over again.

I am not a fan of this album at all.

The only track on here that I really like is 3121. I think the song is bangin'. But that's mainly cuz it sounds like something P recorded in the late 80's.

Besides, I just don't get where you say these albums are 'unlistenable'. That's just crazy talk. Sounds fine on a decent volume on my hi-fi and on my headphones and I'm sure there are millions like me who don't even notice these so called distortions you maintain you can hear apparently at any volume. Sorry that we're enjoying the music and you're not, but there it is.

Musicology & 3121 the albums don't sound consistently good to me. Some songs sound great (Lolita--wich not only has an old Prince sound but captures the old analog feel pretty well--Fury,Get on the Boat, the Word), some hurt. But the overall production sounds like it lacks depth & unity.

agree - 3121 is 2 loud, except 4 Te Amo Corazon.

NOTHING that Prince

has EVER recorded has Hurt or offended,or disturbed me like the "Rap Crap"

that some folks R cranking up 2 listern 2 these days...Besides you can always

turn it down or off completely....

It's when signals are recorded too high. It sounds different on analog or digital. Analog would be like distortion, not necessarily unpleasant sounding. On digital it's more of an unpleasant popping.
