'Live Set' Not part of membership...

I think that we are all getting confused and concerned over things due to the lack of info.

But the way Ive been reading between the lines, this live set is going to be an official release is it not?

Possible scenarios:

1) Send it to members free, thus fullfilling membership obligation *(see note at end). And then that will be the end of the matter. No general release.

2) Send it to members free, thus fullfilling membership obligation *(see note at end). Then release it in the stores to the general public. This will no doubt cause an uproar amongst some of us and the exclusivity issue, plus sales would be pointlessly low without member purchases.

3) Sell it to members ahead of the release date, Prince then still 3 CDs short of a contractual obligation (for the time being anyway).

4) Sell to members a package which contains the official CD live set, which will be on general release at the same price, plus an extra CD or so for free such as Xenophobia Studio recording or perhaps celebration recordings. Thus selling the official release to his members AND fullfilling some or all of the contract obligations with the extra CD(s). (A kind of Crystal ball scenario with 5 CDs if purchased from PP and only three CDs in the shops).

5) Same scenario as above but without club members paying anything! (Pie in the sky perhaps).

Anyway, I just sent an email to NPGMC asking for more clarrification. Lets see what I get back...

Whatever happens. I hope he hurries up and sends something, im getting bored. I need some new input to get my Prince enthusiasm going again, TRC didnt have much staying power with me. And ONA had none!

*(The note at the end) Would you be happy with a three CD box set (if indeed that is what it is) making up the extra three CDs that we are still owed? Or in your eyes, would that count as one CD album (all be it a triple album)?

Why don't we just wait and see
What the deal is going to be?

Pure speculation (which is fun, granted, but wait and see is really the best policy - We will not have long to wait)
Just somewhere in the middle,
Not too good and not too bad.

You took the words right out of my mouth! All this speculation bothers me. I'm not picking on you Jon, I know you're trying to clear things up a little. But people get so crazed, just wait till it comes out and then talk about it later.

So do you see how people's attitudes change when he is releasing an album, or the beginnings of a tour!

Interesting human behavior... And shut up Carrie I can give my opinion...

It's quite funny really, can you remember when you were a kid and you used to go into a shop/store/fair and buy a 'mystery' goodie bag? You would just pay 50p and get all excited and when you looked in you just found a load of crap and never learned??? Ring any bells? have you not learned???
Not that I am compare that to NPGMC - really - honestly, but you never expect what you are going to get when you put your money up front, so stop moaning, it's part of the excitement, money is only money and if it is going to but Prince more condoms, vegetables, bibles, who are we to complain???

Edited due to crap spelling...

Sure, its speculation, and its easy to sit back and wait and see. Thats the obvious thing to do. And I was doing just that until about an hour ago whilst I was reading all the other speculation going on, on other threads, and I got quite annoyed suddenly. I suddenly thought that all this speculation stems from the fact that the company we have paid our money up front to, for product(s) that have yet to be named, is not being at all clear as to what we are getting and when. Instead, speculation spreads and theories are developed about how much more money may or may not need parting with. (The likes of myself, and perhaps you may not have a financial worry with regards to any nominal extra payments, but I am sure there are others that need to re-budget for such sudden needs (and lets face it, they are needs!). So the creation of speculation through the vagueness of the company is not really acceptable).

In the world of business, if you want to get credit for something, ie recieve products or services BEFORE you pay, they make sure you are credit worthy. You have to provide them with every single detail about your finacial standing and credit worthyness. They then process your information by doing a whole load of checks on you. In the same terms, surely it is fair that when it is the other way around, ie I have given NPGMC (Ltd) credit for $100, that they supply me with enough info to trust THEM?

Maybe we were naive enough at the beginning to give them that credit in the first place unquestionably on the info they provided us. But if, as a viable and fully functioning business is to come out of the club, then they will have to start providing a clear and presise enough dosier of their intentions if they are to continue getting the credit up front.

The lack of information creates the speculation. Am I going to pay more? Is it part of what I have already paid? etc etc. The club will never be able to sustain itself and grow if all there ever is, is speculation AFTER they have your money.

Lawd People ... Come on now ...
We'll see what they choose to do when they make up their minds ... Till then don't go cummin in your pants just yet !
And has any one concitered the Fact that Not All the people who are Obsessed with Prince and his music have joined club ? Some folks don't have their own Pcs ...
I know more Non Club memberers who have the stuff from the last 2 years than actuall club members IRL so I'm pretty sure they could sell it if they wantted.... Communication with the club has always been a pain in the booty! but folks have chosen to put up with it ...
I don't have a clue what's going on but in my experiance with there fools don't expect much ....and you won't be disapointed ....
Also do conciter for a moment the Bitch of a year Prince has had in his personal life .... Think maybe his work might "suffer" a bit due to thinfs like oh Death in the family !
Lawd Please People just see what happens and chill ....

Thats not the point at all. Some people are members of the club because they want to support Prince and see him and the club succeed. Irrelevant of whether they can get the "club stuff" by other means or not.

The points I am making are voiced in an attempt to help those people and the club so that we ALL succeed.

Non members are irrelevant to the whole point, and thus have no say on anything club related.

...well, speculation can be a positive thing, because it seems to have stirred up the pot a little bit, and caused some much needed excitement and anticipation within the Prince community. Nothing wrong with that!!

But, in my eyes, I don't see any confusuion regarding how this will be distributed. Paisley Park has made a consciuos effort to squash the "misinterpretation" on the Launch article about 3CD's, and placed an ad in the members only section of the site. Also, on the email PP is sending out, it states to "check ur emale and doortsteps very soon" What I think that says without dispute is that whatever type of set is to be released to either the membership or retail (or both), it will be sent to us within the agreement of the club membership. And, as you remember...NPGMC advertised "at least" 4 CD's for the year. It is quite possible that there will be more, starting with this "One Nite Alone...Live!" set.

Just my dos pesos...

I DO think it's time 4 P 2 release a live album 2 the general public. They need 2 know that he can throw it down live. fro

But it wouldn't b fair if it were the same cds members get.

He should throw in a bonus cd and some extras 4 members..then the main part of the cd goes 2 non-members.
