The performance of Reflection on the show of Tavis Smiley I cant can enough of watching and listening to this one.
I mean, it sounds more stripped down and emotional then the version on ´musicology´, and Prince seems to really putting his emotion into it, not in a kind of theatrical way he often does, but in a more humble, sincere way. You can really tell he is affected by the dead of his mother, and i love the shared looks with Wendy, who is playing guitar next to him. I have read Prince has had a kind of ´row´ with Wendy, because he made some harsh comments about her being lesbian. But from this video it seems they have reconnected again. It makes me think about a remark Eric Leeds once made in an interview. He was saying: Wendy and Lisa, and maybe Sheila, where the only ones who could really get inside his skull, who could communicate him on an intuitive level. That is exactly what i see happening here in these video. Maybe a learning for Prince... write more stream-of-consciousness kind of songs like Reflection or record with Wendy and/or Lisa gain... lol. At least we have this video showing a touch of ´magic´.

Prince treats people like crap. He & Blackwell apparently didn't even speak to one another the last 2 months of the Musicology tour. Too bad too, he was his best drummer IMO.

Reflection is a very touching song, Prince has a lot of pain deep inside.

Not only was the performance amazing, but the preceding interview session between Tavis/Prince was very nice.
Prince seemed very comfortable in that setting, and the Q&A seemed genuine. But the performance!! Take arguably the best song on the album, perform it acoustically, flawlessly, AND with Wendy! What more could you ask for?

really? Prince has talked very highly of blackwell and vica versa. yet he played on the 3121 album. Prince preaches about god but he doesn't show any respect for god's children(men & women).

If Blackwell played on 3121 and has spoken highly of him since then. What makes you think this org persons statement is true.
