The Ballad of Dorthy Parker I would like to know that if anyone here has heard the live 1987 version of The Ballad of Dorthy Parker?I do believe this question was asked a long time ago and I've heard him perform it on Jay Leno and on the Hit and Run tour in Philadelphia in 2000.They were fantastic. What about the 87 version on the SOTT tour?Peace!

the mix and sound balance on this rehearsal version is so good that it's often
mistaken for a studio outtake. I love the jazzy feel and the way the outro segues into a short part of Madhouse's 'Four' (I think I actually prefer this to the album version!)

You know what, now that you mention it, I was wondering if "Four" was part of that version of Dorothy Parker that Eric Leeds mentioned in that interview posted a couple of days ago ( from The Last Miles ). He mentioned recording a saxophone track for that song but Prince omitted it. I don´t remember the release date of Four/The first Madhouse album, but do you think it´s possible that Four originated from Mr.Leeds saxophone contribution for "The Ballad of Dorothy Parker" ? Or was Four recorded way before he even wrote TBODP ? " I´d rather be a stank ass hoe because I´m not stupid. Oh my goodness! I got more drugs! I´m always funny dude...I´m hilarious! Are we gonna smoke?"

Hey folks,
I heard somewhere here about a year ago and also read in Per Neilsen's book that Prince played the song in Vieena 1987 during the Sign O The Times tour.I heard he played it along with Madhouse's Four. How is that version? Thanks again!
