if/when prince tours the uk, what venues around the country would b suitable? hi all, just wondering what venues the man will play when he tours the uk. just finished reading the SUPPOSED dates that he's gonna play over here and wondered which sites would suit the intamcy that the one nite alone shows require.as i live in wales and he is now RUMOURED 2 b playing cardiff, i suggest the st.davids hall because it is very intimate and has sharp accoustics that would suit this tour. any suggestions ppl?

Ok Brixton's cool 4 southern uk, but what about mid uk? i know he did Birmingham+Sheffield Arena during his symbol/gold era. The only problem is because he hasnt played over here live since the Cafe De Paris gig with Chaka Khan+Larry Grahams entourage(1998ish) its hard 2 guestimate crowd no's. I do realise he's in2 more intimate venues so would some where like the Royal Theatre in Nottingham be cool? Sheffield City Hall?Or even The Lyceum in Sheffield? All of which are great venues a scale smaller than national arena's with great acoustics and high quality sound. The only problem is co's he may do smaller venues will he do 2 or 3 nights at each one? Going by the title of his previous tour One Night Alone would push a lot of ppls noses out due to such smaller venues. I just hope he does come 2 the uk and i get to see him live. Id hate to miss out and then have to wait another so many years for his return.

Much love Pochacco I also think Brixton Academy is a great venue due to the sloping floor which means everyone gets a good view of stage even from the back. But as it's a standing room only venue (downstairs anyway) and Prince has been playing small all seated theatres during the recent US/Canadian tour I doubt he will play there. Someone suggested Royal Festival Hall which I think is all seated and it's certainly intimate (small) enough. As i already said in a previous news thread I really don't think he will play many shows in each country, just a few shows in capital cities of countries like England, France and germany.

To hell with all the "intimate venues", Prince deserves to play The Millenium Dome!!!

In London, there's the Ocean in Hackney and the Royal Albert Hall... both would be good venues. Also there's Shepherds Bush Empire. Festival Hall is horrible place to hear music... terrible lighting. My favourite would be Brixton Academy though since i live about 2 minutes walk away.
Wembley arena would be a terrible venue for ONA... too large and impersonal.

Ronnie Scotts and the Jazz Cafe are both great venues. Alternatively, I wouldn't mind him coming to do the Red Lion pub at Hatfield

I'm surprised nobody's mentioned the Royal Albert Hall. It's a cool venue. Both Eric Clapton and Sting love playing there.

I'm with you Raspberry, any pub round Hatfield, Welwyn, Stevenage or even St. Albans would be excellent.
