I think he's talkin' about ya'll...

...who would like P to be yours. Fast forward to about 2:40 in the clip. Now mind you, I'm not defending Canadians wink , but I think he knows what's up with what's being said about him from his fan(m)s. 'Specially here on the org. Just let dude do what he's gonna do. You're interested right? Otherwise you wouldn't be here. Peace.

the interview has nothing to do with the org.....but has more to do with the fact that after Purple Rain hit big in the states, a lot of those fans still expect him to play that stuff and expect him to be that guy that makes tons of hits and unfortunately a lot of those people are still like that and in the states

With that said, it seems to me alot of said fans reside here at the org.

I think there's a big difference between having expectations of good, consistent music (Prince has bragged that his fans expect as much) and expecting him to release Purple Rain III (which seemed to be the point of his comment in that interview).

I'm not expecting another "Let's Go Crazy." But count me among those who have been disappointed in 1) the quality of work that has predominated his mass releases in recent years, 2) the alleged gems languishing and decomposing in "the vault" and 3) a recurring pattern of behavior whereby he's targeted fans who invest in such bootlegged gems.

I love Prince I swear but you know as well as I do that if it wasn't for his fans saying what they want he might come out on stage with all kinds of shit. He has stated many times that he's tired of 'Purple rain' well guess what that's the song that really made him and when he's on stage the audience usually gets what they want before he leaves.

Hold up. First off, you need to calm that shit down. Secondly, my doh! was actually in response to your "get the fuck over yourself" in a OH SNAPP type of way. You don't know me. Act like it.

Well, you got to remember that that was 2 years ago and he was in Canada at that interview and doing a concert there, so it's not surprising that he said that about Canada. The US is used to great musicians so we are spoiled and yes we always expect the best, but at the same time we are definitely open to new artists and new experiences, so I could understand what he means. But you know his home is America and that is in my opinion where his heart is, because he knows no matter what, we will always be there to support his music. Despite what you read on any of these Prince sites. Most were so used to the Prince of the 80s and 90s and are spoiled and can't seem to let go of that time period. Bottom line is that he's gotten older, wiser and apparently wants to move on with new music.

If some fans seem upset that they are not getting what they want from Prince musically, its because they love him and expect so much and it's hard for them to accept that he has matured, grown wiser and is spiritually content, No matter what negative things that some fans say about him, it apparently doesn't seem to bother him, because he truly knows who guides his life.

Today, this is the same Prince but more mature and still surviving in this industry of MTVers, and he proved that with the Musicology tour, and the frequent demands for a tour or requests for his availability from his extremely large global fan base, even 2 years after his Musicology tour. His music will be around forever and if anyone wants the 80s and 90s Prince back, it's not going to happen not now or ever. If you want or expect the 80s, 90s Prince, then dig into your Prince collection and make it happen for yourself, the multitude of his music is there. We have a new Prince in town, and even if he plays some music from his past at any of his present or future shows or concerts, well then he has earned that right to present what he wants us to hear, after all he is the one and only PRINCE, enough said.

This interview is 2 years old. And if you've been into P more than a nano second you know he changes his mind like he changes his socks. lol

That being said. The comment about the US being Mtv'ed to death is true.

And the comment about not owning and iPod. He looked at the interviewer like he was ridiculous for asking. eek

I'm thinking he is just not about plugging big-media products. Imagine a sound byte with him saying he uses one. Good grief.

He's got be listening to all that stuff he records on one device or another.
Come here, babe.. yeah...
